I agree with above posters.. SVS sub designs are not focused around playing loud. They have really clean and tight bass. They won't appeal to general public looking for boomy loud sounding thumping bass.

I read somewhere that usually multiple subs give you a smoother response with even number combinations (2 or 4 vs 3). It may also depend on the layout of your room. The even number option works well for a rectangular enclosed listening area.
