Thanks for the encouragement but these perpetrators are some of several scammers on this form that have posted or sent me bogus pictures they found on the net. The ones posted here are from a FB post by a gentleman in Bangkok back in...

Integrated amp w/ HT bypass for mains and sub

Everything listed on the site is supposed to have an input that could be used for a HT Bypass. Its been around for several years so I'm sure its pretty accurate and up to date. What units are you looking at? Wow, that's a jump up! The Benchmark AHB2 is a $3000 amp and its pretty awesome. I had...

Integrated amp w/ HT bypass for mains and sub

From $2500-$6000 there are many Integrated amps with features from mild to wild. One just has to determine what features, power, etc. they are after. Audio is subjective! Many will say AVR's, integrated, separates sound the same, etc., etc. One has to have their own experience to know if they...

Repair Amplifier Boston Acoustics VR-975 (Tower Speaker Containing Powered Subwoofer)

There's nothing like the smell of hot solder in the morning! The snow is falling as I type and this is the time to knock out repairs. I'm off work today and I'm about to turn my desk into a repair bench and save some stuff from going into a landfill. I have a couple of Boston Acoustics VR960...

Help me setup a Audio system for the house

I'm biased but I'm not a fan of in ceiling speakers for music or LCR for HT. Possibly in wall speakers in some rooms. Nevertheless, I think a Sonos alternative like the Bluesound products is the way you want to go. Can put their wireless speakers in some rooms, the Powernode or Vault products...

Can a better speaker separate instruments better?

A little Blue Tack on the bottom and the speakers are attached pretty securely. The VS 260 are nice and produce a larger soundstage than the older Boston VR3 and VR965 when I compared them side-by-side.

    Philharmonic 3... Packing and shipping

I'm a drummer since I was very young but I play sax in middle school and 9th grade in H.S. Back in the late 70's in middle school had a chance to purchase a Yanagisawa higher end horn through a school discount program for a pretty good savings. I don't remember why I didn't get it or if it was...

    Monitor audio vs Polk Audio

Currently, I pulled an my old Polk RT1000 set out of the basement into my family room. I sold my Polk LSiM703 / LSiM706 combo and my Chane A3rx-c / A2rx-c because I'm supposed to be building the Speaker Design Works Statement II mains and center. I'm not sure if that is going to happen as my...

    Monitor audio vs Polk Audio

Not all Polk fans like every speaker in their line-up. I did not care for the RTi line but lived with the older RT5000 set for a bit. I think the LSiM is a really nice speaker line for Polk. Between the 703, 705, 707 Polk offers slight variations to the sound signature. Polk put a lot of their...

Looking for a new setup - requesting help / suggestions

Hi, I'm a past Polk Audio LSiM703/706C, RT5000, and several other RT, f/x, etc. model owner here. Oh man, too bad you did not pick up the LSiM702 F/X surrounds during the sale. I'm not sure I would pay $1499 for surrounds but at $749 it will be worth it to have all speakers timbre matched...

    Polk LSiM 703 thoughts

You really have to listen to the 703's to know if you will like them or not. They are a rare three-way design bookie that sound like small towers. They are punchy on the low end and over-all are a pleasing speaker to listen to. Polk is know as an affordable speaker so in the Audiophile circles...

    2nd Sub: Matching or Complementary?

My thoughts on two subs.....what's the point unless you get down and dirty with room correction? Further more.... If one uses matched subs.....there is a strong chance the response from each will be different from the listening position given the sub are in two different different locations...

New Home Theatre - Need a Sub

The million dollar question...what would you get for $1500? DIY or manufactured? IMO, subbass is a very cool thing but I would guess one would have to decide how much they are willing to spend. In my own system $1000 is the most I would consider spending. Anything more than that then.....I...

New Home Theatre - Need a Sub

    1. For home theater LFE you are basically looking for good Low Frequency Extension and output to about 115 dB if ou want to bring the house down. 2. I think several have a parametric EQ, DSP control, etc. However, for more detailed room correction an outboard system (Like MiniDSP, Behringer...
