Music streaming services - Music/Artist Selection

Hi All, I recently purchased a Bluesound Node with the intent of using a music streaming service. What I'm am most curious about is the music selection available from these services. I'm less concerned about the music quality comparisons and more concerned about what is available. I already have...

Here is a link for the review of the UDP-203. https://www.avforums.com/news/first-look-at-the-oppo-udp-203-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-player.12972

    HDMI Music file appliance

Okay that makes sense. I think I have found a pretty simple solution that will also give me some additional functionality. The Oppo Blu-Ray player. I'll probably wait for the release of the UDP-203 which is supposed to be available in December. The BDP-103 would work but the upgrades on the...

    HDMI Music file appliance

Maybe I over complicated what I want to do. I simply want to play my digital music files on my system. Since all of my music is on my PC, I thought it was a slam dunk to connect to the PC. That is when I realized I was restricted to the WMP categories instead of a simple folder structure like...

    HDMI Music file appliance

I'm sure PLEX is better than WMP but it is the receiver that has the restrictions. It only allows you to see the WMP categories even from the PLEX share. It's a bummer for sure. The NVIDA might still be the best option. - I'm guessing you maybe helped??? ;-)

    HDMI Music file appliance

Thank you Sir. This is close but still not what I'm looking for. This uses PLEX which is similar to WMP. It doesn't allow me to choose my files from a simple folder view. :-(

    HDMI Music file appliance

Update: I installed PLEX to see if I could get around the WMP issue. What I found was the Yamaha RX-V3800 ONLY uses WMP categories. I can connect to the PLEX share but it is the same as WMP. It appears that this is built in to the receiver. When it connects to the share, it only looks at what...

    HDMI Music file appliance

Hello all, I haven't been on in a while but now I need some advice so I'm asking for some help from the experts. Here is my situation and what I'm looking for. I have a Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver. It supports USB (only 32GB) and network/pc connectivity. I have it configured on my network and it...

What are you playing right now...

I finished up the beta of Elder Scrolls on-line. I won't be buying it. It is an "OK" game. There are better MMORPGs out there. Now I'm playing Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls. I like it. It's harder. It has some cool new monsters and I dig the new loot system. I haven't had much time to play the new...

Help! Baby's coming ... how do I protect my $3,000 speakers?

You could give your stuff to me until she turns 18! :D But seriously I use baby gates. I've used them for the kids, grandkids and our pets. At one point we had gates everywhere. It doesn't look great but that shouldn't matter because your daughter is going to have that place a mess anyway...

Agreed. Sometime that curiosity bug gets the better of me though.

    Audioholics Loudspeaker Measurement Standard

At one point I was determined to know how my speakers stack up against other speakers in the same price/quality range. I eventually let the idea go. I like how my system sounds after all of the work I put in to placement and tuning. With that said, I've seen enough posts and comments about my...

    definitive bp7002

Do you have a dedicated subwoofer? That will make a difference in your tuning. I had similar results when I ran YAPO on my Yamaha so I called DefTech support. They informed me the calibration software does not work very well or at all with bi-polar speakers. My BP7006s are very finicky...

Newbie. Where can I find lists of everything good there is?

First off, welcome to Audioholics! Second, relax and take a breath. Don't start with any list. First develop a strategy. Ask yourself: 1. What is my budget? 2. What is my room size? 2. Can I accommodate bigger floor standing speakers or do I need bookshelf speakers? 3. How much do I...

    Elder Scrolls On-line

I have played the BETA both weekends it was offered. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Here is my very short review. 1. The graphics are good but not ground breaking or breathtaking. It looks like most other modern games. 2. The music is average. I never felt like the mood or feel...

Looking for a single sub to replace two M&K V-125s

I have a PSA XS15 in a medium size room. 90% music, 10% movies. I was going to buy 2 (and still might) but right now I have the single sub sounding pretty darn good. I think it is a high quality product for a pretty reasonable price which includes shipping (in the USA) and a 30 day return...

Same set. Same happy results. I have a Samsung LED upstairs but I watch my movies on my Pioneer. No burn in issues. No issues at all.
