Received my Carnegie CSB1's today, a lot of people wanted to know what I thought...

I've been away for awhile and before I left, I don't remember any talk of an upgrade to the speakers, aside from adding polyfill. Was I missing something or is it a new development?

    speaker help

I have the tower versions of the Carnegies mentioned above and I remember reading two professional reviews and the amps used were under 50 watts, a web search should produce some results, never looked for reviews of the bookshelves but at their current prices represent a good value. I also like...

So I made the decision to get the AA SIERRA 1 book shelf speakers

I have the towers, and they were 1000 for the pair. They are listed as B stock because some of the acoustic fill is missing. They sound great as is, but you can tighten up the bass by adding some on your own. The directions are listed in a thread here and in several other forums.

Anything better than these for $800?

    A vote for the CST1's, can't imagine a better tower for 1000 a pair.

    RX-V375 Headroom and FS speakers

No, it made no sonic difference I could determine.

    RX-V375 Headroom and FS speakers

When I had my Pioneers set up, I was running them with a RX-473 and I had no problems driving them to high volumes.

New music only stereo setup for under 3K

I am currently running the Carnegie towers in a 2.0 system, and I am thoroughly enjoying them especially at 1,000 for the pair. I also am mainly interested in music but they do see home theater duty as well. The fit and finish on them is quite good, especially compared to many other speakers...

Salk Sound Series vs. Aperion Versus Grand vs. Kef Q

Some of the posts here seem likely to either prevent the OP from coming back to this site or take the fun out of the speaker search. I'm sure constructive comments would be truly appreciated, but I know if I were looking for advice the tone here would certainly drive me away. I second, could...

Received my Carnegie CSB1's today, a lot of people wanted to know what I thought...

I have not added stuffing to my speakers yet, as I did not have my tools. Apparently the last time I moved, I dropped some stuff off at my parent's for storage. I completely forgot until I went to open up the speakers and well couldn't. I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the speakers...

Assembled home theater system (7.2) to complement TSi500 - polk

Those reviews are not based upon anyone actually listening to the speakers but the specs, size of drivers, etc. which when you think about it is a fairly laughable way to rate speakers.

Well, I have just about everything else I need to do out of the way so the plan is to add fill over the weekend. Anyone get around to adding fill to the towers yet?

I haven't attempted to stuff mine, I didn't get no rez went with a peel and stick from parts express. I have noticed on occasion and I mean very few occasions when the bass could be tighter. I am still thoroughly enjoying the speakers and will stuff them I've just had other home improvement...

    Tower Speakers

Nice price on the Boston's, they are also buy 1 get 1 free at World Wide Stereo. I have the Focal 726V's and they definitely have a nice clean sound, but not as much bass as the Carnegie's.

Pioneer SP-PK52FS 5.1 Speaker System Review

I have not measured the height with the plinth but as said above, they will not add much to the height of the speaker. When I had the FS52's set up, I did not have an issue with their height, but I am of average height and had a lower sitting sofa at the time, so my seated ear level was...

    Tower Speakers

I just got a set of the Carnegie CST 1's for 1100 shipped. I'm currently running them in a 2.0 system. They certainly have enough bass for me. Not sure how you can beat them for the price. They are being sold for 1000 because not enough damping material was added to the speaker. I haven't...

I agree, and they will get plenty of HT use, but I'm more interested in musicality than theater. I do like subs for HT but with a downstairs neighbor and the cleaner look of 2.0 it just makes sense at this time to go 2.0.
