    Neeb some info on a B&W sub....please

I also posted this on AVS and a guy thinks it might have been part of a Home Theater package. My google skills have failed me also.

    Neeb some info on a B&W sub....please

I went back to the little shop and haggled the price down to $55. This thing really gets down and digs deep. I was just about to order an F12 or either the Klipsch sub people always recommend but I can't beat this price. He has one more of this same sub so i am going to go back later and get...

    Teac 500 HTPC

Me personally, I will be using an AMD APU when I start my build. No need for a video card so it will free up much needed real estate inside the gutted reciever.

    Getting around an old receiver...

Any chance you know what model reciever they have?

    Modding old serparates into PC's

Yeah it would be cool if you could fit a PC inside a Reciever and have it connected directly to the board and have a HTPC/Receiver all in one. It would be what looks like just a standard Yamaha (for example) receiver but "WHalla"...HTPC combo with all the functionality of the Receiver.

    Modding old serparates into PC's

Great Topic. I am searching right now for some components to gut and turn into an HTPC. I am also building an nMedia 6000B HTPC case right now. I completely understand the OP's point. I like for my components to match also....and it's kind of cool for the components to be stacked under the TV or...

    Need help identifying some speakers....

Suer it's a white van speaker. I don't dispute that. The build of the speaker is what had me post on here to try and find out more. I don't really post on Audio forums as bias is maybe worse than automotive forums but there have been so many obscure and "Gone out of business" speaker companies...

    Need help identifying some speakers....

Yes the photo shows more components. I can only position the camera so far to get a shot of the crossover. I don't want to keep pulling these things apart. The crossover actually has 3 of those white plastic spools wrapped in copper wire. From reaching and feeling it also has 3 of the black...

Few more pics... Here is "maybe" a better pic of one of the braces. They are like big letter U's spaced about every 10" or so. I hope that makes sense. So there you go.

    Need help identifying some speakers....

They weigh 74.6 lbs. I used a digital bathroom scale that you stand on. Few more pics. The inside is lined with Polyfill and there are 4 horizontal braces that are glued/stapled/? going around the sides and rear of the cabinet. There are also the small triangle braces at the top and bottom of...

    Need help identifying some speakers....

Sure their White Van speakers. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. It just seemed weird that the construction was as good as they are. Things like Allenhead bolts to hold in the speakers instead of regular wood screws. The knock test didn't sound hollow and actually sounded like some decent...

    Need help identifying some speakers....

After midnight here and the wife just complained about my new toys....LOL I will pop a few speakers out of the cabinet and try different locations to test how placement affects the sound. So far I'm loving these speakers.

    Need help identifying some speakers....

I just tried them and they sound amazing. I mean really really good. Very crisp and very good bass response. These also get very loud but no distortion either just remains crystal clear. I'm using a Yamaha reciever to push them and man do these things rock. Wish I could find any info on them...

    Need help identifying some speakers....

I got these from a friend who was clearing out an old storage unit for free. He doesn't even remember buying them so I can't find out where or when they were purchased. I can't find anything on google. Also how can I hook these up to test as I have not had speakers with the the dual terminals...

Building is part of the fun. I am building my first HTPC right now and I am learning so much more than I had ever known. Plus it's fun.
