    Why Do Audiophiles Hate Bose?

I went to check out Dyson at the local shop that sells vacuums and services most brands. They said that don't sell them or service them because they break and are very hard to fix. Other vacuum shops concurred. One said it wa the Bose of vaccums.

    Why Do Audiophiles Hate Bose?

In the early Seventies, I had an audio store, that carried from budget entry level stuff (university town) to Audio Research. I loved Bose. They marketed 901s like crazy, because that what Bose is good at and people walked in or called asking for Bose so we got the line. We sold none. We demoed...

    The Death of 3D TV

3D TV is/was awful. I have tried to fix my settings so it never pops up again. It's annoying that it ever appears. It's such an artificial look I can't imagine a videophile would want it.

Andrew Jones and Chris Walker now with ELAC

I'd love a comparison between the Debut B5s and the Pioneer BS22s. If the newer speakers are better it's a pretty cheap upgrade.

5 Reasons Dolby Atmos May Be DOA

    3. Atmos will appeal to niche market like DVD-A and SACD does for audiophiles. "3. Atmos will appeal to niche market like DVD-A and SACD does for audiophiles." This is a reason Atmos will succeed? Those two technologies were dismal failures in the marketplace. If that's your scale for success...

5 Reasons Dolby Atmos May Be DOA

It's DOA at my house. I'm weary of the gimmicks to sell more new equipment. I don't know anyone who uses 3D, or 9.x or even 7.x in their home theater. Of course, I don't know anyone who has the resources to spend a hundred grand on a dedicated HT room and gear. We use our systems to listen to...

Aperion Audio Allaire Bluetooth Speaker Review

Yes aptX Bluetooth is very good but not really "CD-quality". It is markedly better than standard Bluetooth. But aptX sending devices are pretty hard to come by. Tablets and smartphones that have it tend to be very expensive. The best deals in tablets are some of the Samsungs. The other are junk...

Marantz M-CR510/610 Mini Network Receivers Previewed

Very slick. Now if they would just make it without speaker amps and outputs and just make it a network music streamer I'd replace my Squeezebox with it. Be nice if it had more music services, MOG in particular.

Is Apple About to Change CableTV and Television Forever?

I hope his cracking the code involved how to make a TV that isn't rectangular with rounded corners. That would be stealing someone else's creativity.

Oppo BDP-93 Universal 3D Blu-ray Player Full Review

Another great feature of the BDP-93 that hasn't come up is that, in addition to the promise of lots of Internet sourced material, you can rip video to an external eSATA drive and watch your DVDs without going near a disc. I use MakeMKV for DVD and can turn on the hard drive and the OPPO a choose...

Logitech Squeezebox Duet Music Server Review

I'm surprised at no mention of FLAC encoded files as it is my preferred method of storage. Not only does it save space on my hard drive but it is a native file type for the Duet (or SB). Both devices convert WAV to FLAC in the Squeeze Center server before broadcasting to the receiver.

Logitech Squeezebox Duet Music Server Review

It's possible to have problems with either if your network isn't reliable. I have no problems with mine using either the Sonos or the Duet. I returned the Sonos and kept the Duet based on needing fewer pieces and lower cost. Sonos does offer a nice piece for adding rooms which has a receiver...

Logitech Squeezebox Duet Music Server Review

Slim Devices, who developed the Squeezebox, is still doing all the work on the Duet, even though they are now part of Logitech. There is excellent support on their site (slimdevices.com) in the forums.

Logitech Squeezebox Duet Music Server Review

I've had both the SB and the Duet and will never go back to the SB. The info you need is much more accessible. The scrolling speed increases as you keep turning the wheel, and with a little practice, you can find things very quickly. Google for "album cover art downloaders" for free software...
