Why is 87 Octane gas $2.34 but Diesel is $3.65?
Well, well, well, I guess I should stop listening to the truck and tractor sales guys and now investigate this a bunch further..... At least it is a nice truck.... Thanks for filling the gaps Doc and everyone.

Why is 87 Octane gas $2.34 but Diesel is $3.65?
I just picked up a new Dodge 2500 diesel and the fun new thing the EPA has forced the builders to add is the Diesel Exhaust Fluid system.(DEF). A 5 gallon ish resivor that holds this extremely toxic fluid that is injected into an exhaust chamber to capture the particles exhausted and trap them...

Room building 101 questions
Sean, sounds like a great start on your new home and room, congrats! The drywall question - insulation in a wall, in general, adds 1 to 2 dB of isolation to the wall system and helps dampen the wall system. So, I would insulate the ceiling system just to help isolate the room form the space...

No choice - lounge against rear wall! What to do?
How far off of the back wall will your head be? And what is a budget for treatment? And how big is the room? How far away are the mains from the listening position? Many Greta things can be done to help but many relatives to consider.... Gordon

Need some help analyzing these graphs...
I would look at your sub without any "distance" in it . Since the distance setting is for alignment with your mains don't take your sub only measurements with delay. The delay is for alignment with the mains. The delay can cause phase issues. So take all your measurements of your sub with out...

Vitamin D? Really?
I just went in for yearly physical and they did a complete blood work along with the rest of the exam. Our insurance pays 100% for a yearly physical to encourage yearly visits....

Vitamin D? Really?
So, I went to the Doc two weeks ago to have a physical (i had not had one in a very long time) and he does his deal (joy and rapture..). He calls me a week later with the results of the blood work. "All the numbers look fantastic" he proclaims, "except your vitamin D is drastically low." So I...

How loud is too loud?
And least forget about; lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, the car stereo, ear buds, etc.. These can do the same, if not more, damage due to the duration of exposure at volumes.... Gordon

Media Room basement build
It really looks like you are going in a good direction and have a good grasp on the overall approach. Just keep looking for weak points in the sub floor or the walls. You would be surprised what can be a "hole". If you do "box" around the main trunk duct then i would case the entire cavity...

Media Room basement build
I agree, I would be more concerned about the transfer of noise from the basement to the upstairs as well. So, in light of that, see if you can isolate the register opening that is cut into your floor system. I might see if i could extend that wall area where the duct cuts across the bulk head...

Both products could be compared to the "Green Glue" you will be using between your dry wall layers that you referenced. While anything can help in dampening the thin layer of tin from vibrating, i would be more concerned about the transfer of sound through the opening in the bottom of the...

Cambridge Audio Azur 851C vs Musical Fidelity M6CD
Hey there! I have a 851C with a iD100 dock and running through a Parasound preamp and Parasound amp and I am very happy with the quality of the sound and build. The flexibility for the system and control works well. The 851C does a very nice job with jitter and over-sampleing and they have...
