    Amplifier choice.

I am looking at buying an amp to take the workload off my receiver. It runs too warm for my liking and moving to separates in the future anyway. So for the theater I think I would like to run the larger speakers (5) at around 200w into 8 ohms. The remaining 6 at 100w or so. This will be...

    Finally getting this out there

I have been working on getting this theater up for a while now so now I am going to show what I have been pestering everyone on this site for. But don't get confused, I will continue to pester!! Theater outline; 135" acoustically transparent Seymour screen 7.4.2 speaker layout - er18 front 3...

    Atmos receiver

This will be for the new theater. Sorry I didn't make that clear. What I have now will be used for the existing HT that will transition into a general family room. Kids are using my stuff!!!!

    Atmos receiver

Well, I'm Canadian eh. x6500 is $3000 and the other options are difficult to come by up here. So I am thinking; 1. full avr with preouts 2. buy seperate power amplifier(s) 3. possibly buy fancier processor All purchases spread out but hopefully not TOO spread out.

    Atmos receiver

I am looking for a 7.2.4 atmos receiver. I would like to have a second zone hdmi and audio output but am not married to it. Has to have pre outs as I will eventually move to separates but cannot afford that at this time. (though I haven't seen a 11 channel receiver without preouts) I am...

    Hello Again

Thanks BMX. I have been looking at all the options that you have shown me as well as a couple others. There is a place that isn't too far away (30-40 minute drive) that actually has a bunch of projectors on display. Even a few that I might be able to afford :D. They have the 5050 on display...

    Hello Again

Here I am making a more specific request for direction. I am looking for a projector for my theater room. Screen size 132" Throw distance ~13' Ceiling mount The theater has no ambient light. I am planning to go 4k, hopefully native, but can be persuaded. Budget $3k Canadian

    Moving forward

Alright I am back for help again. I tried to work out a modification for the er18 speaker so that I could use them for the side speakers but in the end I am unhappy with how much the speaker would protrude from the wall. I have 3.5" max space to bury the speaker in the wall and would prefer...

    Moving forward

Well here I am again! Made a bit of progress so now I have a room! Now I am moving on to the hardware that goes into it. Plan thus far: Room acoustic treatments; Bass traps in the corners - full height triangular front wall covered in wedge acoustic materials maybe ceiling will have 3/4"...

I know, not listening to TLS hurts, on the inside!! The size difference doesn't concern me too much. The %chance of having to replace them is lowered by the power handling?? How about I like the look better? As far as reasonings go that counts :D

Ok then, I will simply install a front baffle so to speak. The area behind will be carved out of the foam as a guesstimate for now and then if i decide to seal it in I can later.

I think I am going to go with the rsl c34e speakers for my atmos speakers. I am going to install them in a box in the ceiling. My final design requires them to protrude from the ceiling drywall 3/4". What volume box should I go with?

Right now I am using a 3 channel for the front 3 channels and the reciever runs the other 4. This unit is going to stay where it is now and that room will become a general use room. (Kids and stuff) The new theater room is going to be a different animal, my new hobby project. The 11 channel emo...

My concern was not that there is enough power to run the back/ atmos speakers but that there would be too much power. The speakers you suggested are rated 45rms. I have young boys that I assume will act like me in their teenage years and be morally required to crank the volume... Just hoping to...

I have only started considering amps at this point, but almost all of the amps I have seen are at over 50rms so I think my concern is still valid :) As a side note, I have an emo amp and am quite happy with it thus far.

Quick surfing around, what do you think about these. They are a multi driver unit, makes the speaker simpler in some ways doesn't it?

The theater is being set up a separates system and I am thinking about going with an emotiva 11 ch amp. That amp puts out 65watts rms into 8 ohms. I understand that there shouldn't be excessive power into the Atmos speakers but do you think this could be a problem?

Hello All It's been a while since I have been surfing around here but I have been somewhat distracted building a house :D Due to the fact that I am at the point where I need to make decisions for my theater speakers. I need to determine what speakers I am going to have in the ceiling for the...

    New Home Theatre

Anyone have some suggestions for in wall/ ceiling speakers? I will need to worry about any boxing in I will need to do in those spaces shortly. These are not spaces that require audiophile sound, just something durable, sounds good(great not required),and reasonably priced. Canada btw
