New HT and have annoying problem, help appreciated

Thanks all for the tips and advice. The first cable I swapped out, the one between PS3 and the receiver seems to have been the culprit. I started a movie and it did black out once at the very beginning, but the entire rest of the movie was flawless. I thought it was going to be the long 40' I...

New HT and have annoying problem, help appreciated

Amen brother! At first this only happened once in a while and I chalked it up to a fluke, but now it probably happens about 20 times during the course of a single movie and is not acceptable to tolerate. It literally ruins every movie or show I watch.

Well, about 6 weeks ago I got my HT set up and it has been amazing. I have never had a setup even close to this before and all I can say it was worth every penny. Quick gear check: Denon 3312CI Receiver Epson Pro Cinema 6010 PJ Visual Apex 120" electric tab-tension screen EMP Tek 7.1...

Completed my first HT this past weekend

That is exactly what I would like to do, but the walls are full of the spray in expanding foam insulation. It may be tough, but the more I think about it, I would like to try to force them down, it would be much cleaner.

Completed my first HT this past weekend

Yes, sorry about the blurry pic, I will be getting some better ones today. As for the hanging speaker wires, I did buy some cable cover tracks from Lowe's that are paintable. I will be running those this evening and painting this weekend. I did hear it from a few others to pull the speakers...

Guide on proper projector and screen install?

Sadly, when I had new carpet installed a week or so ago, I did not think about that and the whole upstairs has the same carpet, it is a darkish tan, but still not what I would call a dark color. Too late to change that, but I have had the lights off and it isn't bad at all actually.

Guide on proper projector and screen install?

I have 100% light control in my media room. I can get it so dark you can't even see the whites of their eyes. My walls are a deep maroon color, pretty dark actually, but the ceiling is a flat white, I may end up changing that.

Guide on proper projector and screen install?

So, I can shelf mount it from 23 feet on to a 120" screen and still have plenty of brightness for 3D etc? This is going to be my first projector, so I have no idea what to expect or compare it to. I don't even know what to expect as far as picture quality, compared to a normal lcd or...

Guide on proper projector and screen install?

I will be ceiling mounting this unit. My first row of seating is at 13ft from the screen, second row about 18ft, so I guess 16ft would be in the middle of those and not hanging over anyone's head. :D

If the price was the exact same which of these setups?

Well, to be honest the speakers is what held me up the longest. For the price points, everything else was an easy decision after a good bit of reading and scouring these boards. As far as the projector, it was between the Epson and and the new Panasonic AE7000. The fact that I am an Epson...

If the price was the exact same which of these setups?

FirstReflection, I would just like to personally thank you. You really helped get me off the fence without telling me what I should get. You spilled out the pros and cons of each setup I considered and it really did help me drill down to what I felt would be the best bang for the buck. My total...
