AfterLife2's Setup Finally...Brace Yourself and Always Thankful To My Audioholics FriendS.

Sandy was almost 11 years ago, can you believe that?! I just went back to the first post in this thread and saw the NXG speakers, brought a smile to my face.

Harbottle Audio C7 Bookshelf speaker Customer Thoughts

My statement was clear, don't blame me if you can't read.

Harbottle Audio C7 Bookshelf speaker Customer Thoughts

Again, it all depends upon your perspective. If you feel it's a waste of money for Harbottle to use them then spend your money elsewhere, don't buy anything from the company. I'm sure both you and Cody would be much happier that way.

Harbottle Audio C7 Bookshelf speaker Customer Thoughts

I never said they were the best, what I said was "It's nice to see some go in the opposite direction and incorporate the best components they can".

Harbottle Audio C7 Bookshelf speaker Customer Thoughts

I suppose it depends upon your perspective. Cody didn't cheap out on any aspect of his speakers, and the binding posts are no different. Personally I'm glad not every manufacturer subscribes to the philosophy of "best bang for the buck!". It's nice to see some go in the opposite direction and...

Yes indeed. Very solid piece of kit too.

Harbottle Audio C7 Bookshelf speaker Customer Thoughts

They're fantastic speakers, I had a set in-house for a few months - along with their C18 subwoofer - and loved every minute of it. You're right about the volume too, twist the knob and they just get louder without losing any clarity. Their distinctive appearance makes them a conversation piece...

FTC to Kill Amplifier Rule: Help us Protect it by Feb 16th, 2021!

Good luck with that; he who has the biggest budget to purchase lobbyist's is the one who reigns supreme.

    Earthquake subwoofer, is it good?

I suspect only the 1000's are the same, in that period of time the rest of the model line has either been refreshed or is a new product.

    Earthquake subwoofer, is it good?

You do realize this thread is almost 7 years old, right?

    Need layout opinions.

It's you who is confused. The Definitive Technology SR-8080BP is not a tower, it's a wall mounted surround.

    Need layout opinions.

That could prove to be challenging, bipolar speakers are supposed to be wall mounted and equidistant from the listeners. If you place one on the non-kitchen side of the wall by the hallway leading to the half bath and the other on the kitchen side of the doorway leading to the patio (in the...

    Construction of MBL omnidirectional speakers

Very cool! I've often marveled at how unique and unusual MBL's looked and wondered if they sounded anywhere near as good. That manufacturing environment looks cleaner than a hospital operating room. I did get a laugh though to see the midrange driver going into a toaster oven for curing. Is...

Erin's Audio Corner (my new review YouTube channel/website)

Sadly, about the only people getting rich from youtube are the exec's at google who already are. It's clear you do this because of passion, it's obvious in your work and the amount of time you put in.

    Need layout opinions.

Based upon the diagram I'll have to make some assumptions - such as the image is to scale - so bear that in mind as you read this... It appears the room is 14'6" wide with roughly 1/3 of that an opening leading to the hallway with the half bath. If my calculations are correct you'll have about...

Dual Subwoofers - what to choose?

Assuming the room measurements are correct that's 10,000 cubic feet, way too large for a pair of SB-3000's. I'm not even sure half a dozen of them would suffice for that much space. As the others have mentioned, with that much area to fill ported is your only option. However, your listening...

Compact, “tight” punchy sub for JBL 530s?

I'll second the Rythmik L12, it's a highly regarded product. If you can't swing the extra budget than the RSL SpeedWoofer 10 mentioned previously would be a solid alternative.
