    BSR EQ-3000 Unbalanced Output

I know this is some older equipment but I'm hoping someone can help me. I had to put it in storage for a few years and after getting it out I'm getting reduced output from the right channel. I have tested my setup without the EQ and the output is balanced through both channels. I opened it up...

    Having Trouble With Bitstream

I just upgraded the video card in my HTPC to a 5450. It's supposed to able to support bitstream for the uncompressed codecs. However, on my receiver I only get PCM so it's not bitstreaming. I looked at the driver for the HDMI audio and it says that it's only 2ch. It also says it's a MS driver. I...

How Nuts Do You Get Cleaning Your PS3

I'm guessing they used crap thermal grease, unless it was pretty old.

How Nuts Do You Get Cleaning Your PS3

Do you have a small vacuum to clean the bigger one? In all seriousness, I've never opened any of my game systems just to clean the inside.

    iTunes File "Up"-Conversion

As mgsylvestre and itschris has said. iTunes uses a lossy format and that mean that original data from the source file has been lost. There is nothing you can convert it to, to make it sound better. You're kind of stuck with what you have. Garbage in, garbage out applies here.

    Old school gaming

I just bought Super Spike V'Ball for the NES off eBay complete in the box. As soon as I got I put it and played it. I had to test it out and all. Over an hour I was still playing it. I already had the game, just not in the box or with the manual.

7 Companies That May Not See 2020

Pretty spot on. I do find it amusing that I read an article a couple of years back that said Block Buster would be dead by now.

Building An HTPC, Need Some Suggestions

Besides, for the price that it would cost for another MOBO I'd exceed the cost of a video card and sound card. Plus I'd have the hassle of trying to get rid of my current MOBO. Here's the list of stuff I went with: MSI R4350-MD512H Radeon HD 4350 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16. It...

    Dispute over Flagpole

I can't say much more than what's already been said but you would think that a senator could just tell the HOA to eat a **** and get them off his back. Either way what they're doing is absurd.

    HTPC Cases

I love the HeatSync 7000 from A-Tech. I was going to go with that until I found the new Zalman cases. I'm very picky and there aren't a lot of good looking and functional ones around. The Zalman cases are a lot cheaper too. Zalman HD501 Zalman HD503 I just ordered the 503 a few days ago...

    Media Server, PC or PS3?

I tried the media server first, didn't like it. Then I tried my X-Box 360 and it was better but the navigation/folder organization and intolerance of a lot of different formats. I've used some HTPCs and now I'm building one for myself and I would say that's it's the best option by far...

Isn't there a "man" code or something?

That's happened to me before, so now I take measurements when I've got everything where I want it just in case. Then it's easy to move everything back, right where it goes. I think you're completely right though. There are things you don't mess with. If someone is into something you just...

    Klipsch HD 300 VS Z-5500

Thanks. For me personally, I would go with the receiver, cables, and Klipsch speakers. Yeah, you're spending more but the sound quality will be a lot better. Logitech makes decent dedicated computer speakers but they aren't great when it comes to sound quality. It all comes to what you're...

    Klipsch HD 300 VS Z-5500

Yep, you've got it. Interconnects are a hotly debated area. However, most people aren't going to hear the difference in a higher end cable. At least that's my finding. Those should work just fine for your system.

    Klipsch HD 300 VS Z-5500

The first two aren't optical cables. The last one is used for sub woofers, which I forgot, you will need one to connect the sub to the receiver. The problem with buying all the cables from Newegg is it's going to run your budget way up. The only two TOSlink optical cables I could find were...

    Klipsch HD 300 VS Z-5500

I wouldn't use that speaker cable, very low gauge. The reason I say avoid Monster that they are seriously over priced. Optical Tosslink. Speaker Cable. These will do the job and are about as cheap as you're going to find. If you need longer ones they are only a little more money.

    Klipsch HD 300 VS Z-5500

Oh, in that case this is really simple. You're only going to need one fiber optic cable and speaker wire if you don't already have it.

    Motorola HDPVR. Poor sound

After the diagnosis of what you've done I'd exchange it for another one. I don't know about that DVR but I never count a product out just because I got one that had an issue out of the box.

    Looking For Some A/V Furniture

Thanks! Yep, I still use each one of them off and on. Otherwise I might consider setting it up in a way where only one system is out at a time and the cables were just sitting behind at the ready. I love the NES, it's still my favorite system. :D I would like to have a Saturn you might be...
