    yamaha or nad reciever

I took the middle ground. I have the Yamaha 2400 and I run it through an Adcom 5 channel power amp. Therefore, I get the best of both worlds. It works for me.

    RXV-2400 Yamaha

I did offer advice. I told him he should try setting up his system manually.

    RXV-2400 Yamaha

I am afraid I have to agree with the others. I also have the Yamaha 2400 and my room is approximately the same size as yours. I have JBL speakers and my system simply fills my entire room with beautiful well balanced sound. You might also try setting up your system manually. I hope this helps

    RXV2400 problem....

After you go through the calibration and set up again, go through the menu until you come to the memory guard option. Activate memory guard and that should solve your problem. I hope this helps

Using a Receiver AND Seperate Amps together?

I have two Outlaw M-200 Mono amps connected to my main speakers. I also have an Adcom 7506 (125watts X 5) driving my center, surround and rear surround speakers. I must say I am quite pleased with the sound.

Buy cheap or go deep on amp for Yammy?

I have a Yamaha 2400. I am using it as a preamp. I have two Outlaw M-200 amps connected to the main speakers and an Adcom 7605 pushing the center, surrounds and rear surrounds. I do not play loud music for long periods of time so I can not help you with that. I do, however, push the volume when...

Entry level Subwoofer short list - what would you pick?

Well let me throw my support behind the JBL E150. While I do not use mine anymore I feel it is an excellent subwoofer for the price.

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

That is something to think about, particularly since I use my system primarily for movies. In reality I do not have to replace my Yamaha when I move my system. I also have a Sony STR-DE895 (110 x 6). I bought this unit new not a year ago. I used it for a few months, replaced it with the Yammie...

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

When I move my equipment to the new room the Yamaha will no longer be part of my main system, however it will be the heart of my secondary system. The secondary system will remain in the family room for every day use.

    Adding a Rotel power amp

While you will definitely get more power I believe it will be accompanied by higher a level of distortion. Personally, I have my RX-V2400 connected to one five channel amp, Adcom 7605 (100 watts x 5) and two Outlaw M-200 mono black amps, (200 watts x1) and I get great, clear sound.

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

Currently I am using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp, running it though an Adcom 7605 five channel amp and two Outlaw m-200 mono amps. At this time I do not need a preamp, however when I move my system to a dedicated room I want to keep the Yammie in the family room. At that point I will need to...

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

Hey REX If you are talking to a sales rep and he does not know whether the Yamaha 1400 has preouts, in my opinion he does not have the depth of knowledge I would want from a salesperson. In other words if you have a thousand dollars on the table for a new piece of equipment, make sure the...

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

Using the Yammie as a preamp will work quite well and provide you with many hours of enjoyment, but I have heard it gets even better with a preamp. But this is an excellent way to get into separates and yes, there will be improved sound.

    Denon AVR-2803 or Yamaha RX-V1400

When checking our receivers you must remember some receivers and speakers match-up better than others. There are some speaker systems that match –up better with Yamaha some match-up better with the Denon. However, the only thing that matters is how it sounds to you. Personally, I like the Yamaha.

Using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp.

Friday my two Outlaw 200 mono block amps arrived. I set up my system so the Outlaws push my mains. The center, surrounds and rear surrounds are pushed by my Adcom 7605 five channel amp. Now I use my Yamaha 2400 strictly as a preamp. The 2400 makes a very effective preamp. The Yamaha has a lot of...

    considering the Outlaw

Well I am not really replacing my Yamaha. I will keep it in our family room as the nucleus of my secondary system. However, I am also putting together a system I will use in a dedicated HT I am going to put on the third floor of our house. Actually I like my Yamaha and I am satisfied with its...

    considering the Outlaw

Currently I am using my Yamaha 2400 as a preamp and running the mains, center and surround speakers through my Adcom 7605 (125 watts x 5). The rear surrounds are still connected to my Yamaha. I’m considering purchasing the Outlaw 950 preamp. However, if I do so I will need to get another...

    using PRE-OUTS for adittional amplification

I did not use it in the first place. I rather do it manually. When I set up the Adcom I calibrated the speakers and set speaker levels and distance through the Yamaha, but I did it manually. I do not believe there should be that great of a difference. Frankly I don’t really trust YPAO.
