    runoff

The runoff election only includes the top two vote getters on the ballot. So one of them will receive more than 50% and another less than 50%.

    New Cartridge

Regardless of the risks, in my set up I don't want to put doors on the cabinets. I like the aesthetics of it as is: Just my preference. My kid is 11. I made it this long without problems. Fingers crossed. The Blue arrived yesterday and installed in a snap. Sounds great.

And I will hope you turn out to be right.

    New Cartridge

The TT is 7 or 8 years old. Probably time for a new stylus anyway. First time anything has happened to it. No cats. It is definitely a kid thing. I used to put the stylus cap on it after each use, but got lazy. I will probably get back into the habit of doing that again.

Mar a Lago raided by FBI

I have to respectfully disagree with this. If Trump gets knocked off, DeSantis gets the nod. DeSantis espouses the same platform (only more eloquently) and caters to the exact same far right contingency. The far right is the fringe no more in the GOP. Sadly, there are no longer enough...

    New Cartridge

The fingers aren't so little anymore or the likely culprit. More likely a Dad is downstairs game of indoor baseball with an errant throw to the plate or some such nonsense. All I got for an explanation was a shoulder shrug and an "I dunno."

    New Cartridge

The tt sits in a custom made cabinet with lighting above. Aesthetically, I am not going to put the dust cover on. But I will look into ways to lock the tone arm into its cradle. Thanks to all for the advice on the Ortofon stylus. Good to learn of the easy upgrade path to the blue stylus...

    New Cartridge

Last night I went to put a record on my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit TT only to find the tone arm sitting in the middle of the platter. The lift arm failed to work and ultimately I realized that the stylus was broken off. I got the lift arm to work, but obviously I need a new cartridge or...

    The Jan 6 Commission hearings

The equal time rule is actually separate and a bit different. That rule is about TV and Radio providing equal air time to political candidates. The equal time rule still exists but it doesn't apply to news coverage. The fairness doctrine is about presenting both sides of an issue. I...

    The Jan 6 Commission hearings

These two sentences coupled together...there's truth to them and it is alarming that people could care so little.

    The Jan 6 Commission hearings

There is a big, big difference between Nixon/Watergate and Trump/January 6 when it comes to public support. That difference is news coverage. Nixon/Watergate had to face a news media that (1) existed on only a handful of channels, and (2) was subject to the Fairness Doctrine. That law...

The freedom convoy of antivaxers here in Canada are a bunch of facist pigs.

I'm sorry, where did I vilify you or anyone else? In line with the mission of this forum, all I did was ask you to support your opinions. The CDC director's statement (which needs context) does not do that. I am an open minded person, but I don't have unlimited time to research other's opinions.

The freedom convoy of antivaxers here in Canada are a bunch of facist pigs.

Your statement was that there was data showing that unvaccinated people are at no greater risk of transmitting the disease than the vaccinated. In response to my request for that data you claim it is common knowledge, or would be if the "MSM" would report on it. You then cite an article from...

The freedom convoy of antivaxers here in Canada are a bunch of facist pigs.

You claim things as "fact" that simply are not true. Please enlighten us with the data that shows unvaccinated are at no greater risk of spreading than vaccinated. In the meantime...

    OLED Brightness and Color

This couldn't be more true. Last January I replaced my 65" Panny plasma with a 77" LG CX. Primary seating is about 12 feet away. Now I wish I would have gotten the 83".

    48" LG C1 or 48" Sony A9s

Does anybody own either of these TV's or compared them? I am replacing my TV in my bedroom. It will be used with an Nvidia Shield Pro for streaming and occasional gaming via the Shield streaming from my PC upstairs - I don't envision using it for heavy gaming or connecting any 120hz source...

    Have Remote Controls Become Obsolete?

Many many years ago I owned a URC remote with an RF extender. The system worked pretty well, but it was a pain to set up. I recall having a hard time getting the programming software and instructions and that programing it was not very easy. I think they made it that way to provide a revenue...

    Have Remote Controls Become Obsolete?

I have two Ultimate's. The screen actually is pretty helpful-especially for programming buttons that don't have a natural fit on a hard button or programming controls for a secondary device. For example when watching through my streaming device, I like to have certain options available for my...

He did not replace the main board, he just did the factory reset with his service remote. That's why I am concerned about future issues.

    ARC Issue

Thought I'd provide an update. After contacting LG and trying everything they suggested (factory reset, unplugging power, etc.) they set up a warranty claim. A local repair shop ordered a new main board and just now came out to replace it. The tech said he had to try a few things first and...
