Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

Nah. I got it. Thanks. Awesome. Let me know this: I will go with a receiver which supports 5.1.2 at a minimum and MUST support Atmos. Then also look at a 2 channel amplifier which i can plug into this receiver for the rear 2 speakers. I effect i have 5.1.4. If budget permits the better choice...

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

On that thought maybe i can reuse my current AV purely as an amplifier like use its Zone 2 and keep it in Zone 2 and connect the 2 rears to it?

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

I checked. My length is 15’ with sofa at 0’ to TV and front+center. Either sides are just 6’ away but middle of room left folds into a big room: dining area. So i have 2 front/left, center, 2 surrounds ear level either side of sofa making it a 5.1 setup. Woofer: somewhere. I now will have the...

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

Dummy q: cant I do the same with my current AV? i.e. add a 2 channel Amp to power the 2 rear speakers? While my current Amp still covers 5.1.2 (2 front presence). I think it may not be possible but asking.

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

I did not understand this part. Please explain. I have always trusted advise here so will "stick" to 5.1.4 instead of 7.2 I have my sofa around 1 foot sticking out from the rear wall and then on the rear wall are the 2 wall speakers. However each speaker is approx. 2 feet horizontally spread...

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

@William Lemmerhirt this is great. I started checking and I think your option 5.1.4 / 5.2.4 is great but also see 7.1.2 / 7.2.2. Ignoring the sub-woofer capabilities i am torn between going with 7 and 2 front presence or 5 with 4 front and rear presence. Yes, if purchasing definitely will opt...

Choice of speaker for Yamaha RXV-685

Personally I prefer Yamaha. Their sound is bright and seem to have better surround algo. Onkyo: couple of friends had bad experience even recently. Check few Amazon reviews. You can see. Denon is solid. You are in India and Kerala is very very humid. Factor it in your decision. Electronics. You...

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

Sorry man. My son is in his teens and loves good music. At his age they are surprisingly impatient. LOL Okay so these seem to be generic wall speakers. If i am to venture a guess they seem to be Monoprice 2 drivers. They are almost at ceiling level. Just 5 in below. Hope this helps and apologies...

Have RX-V685 and new home has many in-wall speakers. Need options?

Hi, I have a working RX-V675 and a 5.1 existing Paradigm speaker setup. 2 front, 2 surround, 1 center and woofer. After moving into my new home inherited some good in-wall speakers - front 2 near ceiling and back 2 - near ceiling. In total now I have 9 speakers and 1 woofer. My current AV I...

Just backed a new product in Kickstarter.... any comments?

The ME one was bad from start. The Shure one - as I wrote held up for 3 years. I just grab them on way to work using public transport coupled with NY subway, 1.5 hrs. I needed something with microphone. In terms of listening music - my choice is varied but gravitate towards 80's/90s rock in the...

    Kudos to Paradigm

I have the cheapest Paradigm sub woofer bought way back in 2013. The 1st. one was a dud, after contacting them they asked me to send them the electronics. Which I did. They sent back a replacement. It works fine for +5 years now. Recently got an email. Asking about how the woofer is performing...

Just backed a new product in Kickstarter.... any comments?

Thank you for the explanation. I have very limited funds and like to hear good music. With that context I initially owned Shure E2c which broke after 3 years, then bought MEElectronics A161P which broke after 3 months and currently have Shure SRH145m+. SRH145 is big but more sturdy. However in...

Sorry, I am a newbie to this, i.e. headphones, etc. Can you please give me a brief idea regarding headphones and 5.1 - why bad / not worth it?

I thought this looked rather promising. Assuming Super or Early birds are still available, it won't break my bank at least. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806784291/inova-dont-just-listen-to-the-sound-feel-the-sound/description

How does this look? a HT setup proposal

Not sure but I thought 80w/channel at 8 ohm looks under powered. I thought with A500 - i'll get more.

How does this look? a HT setup proposal

I got my hands on an almost new Emo UMC 200, very cheap at approx $299 thru my neighbor who went upscale. Anyways my funds are extremely limited and looking for a 5.1 setup now. For speakers I was thinking of the Paradigm 5.1 set. Now, for amplifiers was thinking of purchasing 3 Behringer A500s...
