    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

Ok, I finally bit the bullet and read the manual (as a guy, I hate reading manuals :D). Now I feel silly for wasting time saying pretty much exactly what they did :o. They are technically informed...and correct. The "dramatic" (and maybe imaging) part needs caveats, but they explain the valid...

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

Bingo. And the perfectly valid reason to do so (as the informed/Paradigm understand). No one is suggesting going out and spending a bunch of money. Simply possibly beneficial utilization of what you already have.

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

What is a sentace? By who? Your (or others) limitations must be superimposed on all? Ah, the victim card. Always the resort of the scoundrel, with a weak or no argument. Bravo. Lets see, name dropping, appeal to authority.....at least you saved the reducto absurdum for the...

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

You are the only one presuming expense (none with a mch receiver I mentioned or mch amp like Cobra has). Complete lack of comprehension of the change in audibility of clipping spectral components, different current loading on the output stages for the separate impedances, etc, etc, etc....makes...

133watts < 244 watts < 375 watts Such as? You don't have to. You just have to be able to perform kindergarten level math (unlike some "EE"s :)).

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

Meaningless undefined words, so I have no idea what you mean. Your job entailed opening speakers and examining networks? "Isolated" networks??? What were you looking for? Do you know how to actually tell? TD #2!!

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

TD SC!! On what basis/evidence do you make such a claim? If you have more than a pair of binding posts back there.... What?? The majority of networks are parallel, not series - though they do exist.

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

Thread title says Paradigm. S2 I believe. However, it appears Kurt's question was in general. Hopefully it has been answered.

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

Already explained if you read all my posts in this thread: Each channel does see a different load. Yes, but its a voltage source, power across the load increases, but your woofer leg impedance will not change because you separate it from the tweeter. Again, for the last time, it's not so much...

Incorrect. Greater dynamic/burst power capability tends to sound "better" at higher SPL's, not "louder". A system with low compression can be played at quite high sound pressures, without it being perceived as "loud".

Good luck with that. You're liable to hear soon about dolphins and 5 Guys in a tiled bathroom, or something equally nonsensically incoherent.;) To the contrary. Ignorance does not preclude prolific posting, unfortunately. Hence the blissful unawareness of voltage swing requirements vs channel...

    Got banned

It does exist. I installed my cables in the wrong direction once, hit play...and the music came out backwards. cheers, AJ

Isn't a "room lock" about $20 at Home Depot?

:). Or maybe his imagination drifted a bit during this daydream. Btw, WTF is "room lock"??

    Don't buy Emotiva UPA-2

Bingo. That is exactly why more (available) power is better. But is not so much the slight increase in available power, as I explained in the Bi-Amp thread, it is that you separate the tweeter/woofer amplifier channels, which means if the woofer load channel clips, it will not be as audible as...

Need help with choosing "good" speaker options

You're not alone here. Forget the "reviews" and listen for yourself. There is no better "expert" at determining what suits your audio needs...than you. Take your own music. Listen yourself. Set the volume you are most comfortable with....keeping in mind that playing one speaker slightly...

I might have been joking ever so slightly. As far as "sounds better", I would say...it depends. At higher levels, yes, maybe.;) cheers, AJ

    Bi-amping - Is Paradigm selling snake-oil??

That part is doubtful. But there is "a difference". How audible? That depends. Notice the two ch power delivered is not half of the one. Nor is the five ch 1/5th. 2ch total power 244w. 5ch 375w. 4 would be slightly less, but more total than 2. Each would see a different reactive load, in...

Well, according to our resident EE and another understudy, that wouldn't do you any good. You know, have 4 channels driving each separate reactance leg of the XO's , vs 2 channels driving it as a voltage divider. Who knew? cheers, AJ
