I would recommend the Denon over the Pioneer - mainly for the Audyssey MultEQ XT but also for the additional power it has. Audyssey XT provides very good room correction capabilities.

This simply is not true. Reflections and absorption rates of sound with with it's peaks and valleys don't change simply because you've turned off the multi-channel AVR and turned on the 2 channel unit. That is unless you have an anechoic chamber for your listening space.

After you get the sub(s) installed put a buttkicker or two on the bed frame. You'll get those sub 20hz effects - right in the butt.

That Pioneer is a pretty good unit. They have some trouble making their stated power - and more than most but power isn't everything.
