Also I am looking for the P/N for the original Control cable or otherwise known as the Display Interface Cable. There is an alternative cable that is 33 ft long. I know that P/N to be VMC-P10. I don't need one that long. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks:cool:

I called tech support at Sony and was put on hold for quite a long time. When she got back on all they could recommend is that I take it to a local authorized maintenance shop. And then they would be able to tell me if the mbt-xbr900 would work or not. Nice support huh!? :mad:

From what I read in the article, you should turn it(xvYCC) ON if all the components support it. Turn it off if any one item in the chain does not support it.

They are investing alot of money towards this. 3.5 Billion from the Japanese Ministry of Economy. Crazy but good, meaning they could have something out on the market soon for consumers.

How extensive is your repair capability? For one you asked about trimming the screen down(can't do that). But as for getting it fixed, could be expensive. I'm in agreement with the other posters here that it won't be anything simple like a fuse. Call the mfgr and give them the scenario...

I'll 40th the comment to move your speakers away from your set. Or buy some shielded speakers. Do you have permanent speakers on your set along the sides?.... If you do it may be possible that the mfgr... may have installed the side speakers wrong causing the color bands.

I have the same results on my 60" Phillips RP. I change the format on my TV to 4:3 and it fills most of the screen but I still have about 2 inches at top and bottom.
