    Wireless Adapter for Surrounds

I'm having a guy come out next week. He's thinking he can run up the wall and drop down into the crown without taking it off. He says he's done it many times. He says he's just gonna drill 2 maybe three holes in crown and fish the wires through to the back wall. He says he'll just plug the...

    Wireless Adapter for Surrounds

That Rocketfish setup was one of the things I was looking at. It's certainly an option. It just sort of irritates me to have all higher end stuff and then have to rely on these built-in amps. When I'm not doing "critical" type listening, I do switch on one of the surround modes. I like to...

    Wireless Adapter for Surrounds

Hmmm... good point. I didn't even think about that for some reason. Good Lord... it'll just be easier and cleaner to pull down the crown at this point. Thanks guys.

    Wireless Adapter for Surrounds

I just moved from our house to our new townhome. Setting up the system, I realized I have no easy way to run wires for the rear surrounds. Right now, the thought of pulling down all the crown molding just isn't something I want to do. Maybe down the road, but not now. Is there any decent...

Is Emotiva losing some of it's luster?

Regarding the cables... they're also kind of flat... like the two conductors are side by side so coiling excess cable is odd as well. It seems they're alway close but not quite with everything. I like cables by the way so when I get around to it I'll be getting new speaker cables ... again...

Is Emotiva losing some of it's luster?

I'm going to go back to 2008 when I joined up here and waited ... an waited... and waited for the original processor which was promised to be "next month" which I think they did for 2 years. I've never been fond of a company that uses it's customer base as unwitting beta testers. I did buy...

Advice on my first major home theater purchase

I spend some time listening to Klipsch before you buy. They are not for everyone. They give off a very characteristic sound. I've listened to them at different times thoughout the years and my conclusion is always the same: They tire me out. I can't image spending the day or even an hour or...

    Buying a turntable

Yeah... that does create an issue. I guess I can always tackle that down the road. The Pro-ject does come with a USB optioned player I could consider.

    Buying a turntable

I just dug up my manual... does this mean I still need a phone pre-amp? I'm not sure if this for the higher end TT's like the ones we're talking about.

    Buying a turntable

Do you have a recommendatons for the phone pre with USB. I think I'll need one if I get the U-Turn because I don't believe my Pio Elite receiver has a Phono-In. Right now I just use composite cables.

    Buying a turntable

it's not one of the good old pioneers. It's just some $100 turntable I got at best buy a few years ago for my mom. Nothing worthwhile...plus it's got a big gouge on the cover.

    Buying a turntable

I was listening late last night with headphones to some old Duran Duran albums on this later model Pioneer turntable I have. Yes... I can admit I like Duran Duran... high school in the 80's - you could not escapte the British invasion on MTV. But anyway... the songs are so much better. It's...

    Buying a turntable

I've been reading a lot about the u-turn orbit plus. I like that its US built created from a kickstarter project. My thought is that typical me... I'll step into this and suddenly get obsessed and have to upgrade to something much grander and more expenseive... just because i'm sadly...

    Buying a turntable

Hmmm good info. They both look about the same. Does the Pro jest have a dust cover? That's the one thing I can't tell.

    Buying a turntable

Thanks Slip. That U-turn looks nice for about the same money... you get an acrylic platter. i'm not looking for the end all be all... just something worthwhile. I think either will fit the bill but now I'm seriously thinking about the u-turn.

    Buying a turntable

With my new TV on the wall, I'm finally able to free up the top of my BDI cabinet for a turntable. I've looking at this one for awhile and from everything I read is a pretty good starting point. http://wwv.crutchfield.com/p_252ESIIW/Pro-Ject-Essential-II-White.html I'm interested in...
