Hi, i would not recomend the Samsung BD-P1600 only because i have the 1400 and it is so slowww at loading, i use my PS3 now and that loads like lighting 10x as fast.

After reading about all of this i feel the same way as you do Seth, i would much rather have a great sounding CD than a loud CD that sounds like Sh==!

I don't use any acoustic treatments at the momment because the wife does not want them on the wall, so i would say if they were smaller it would be easier to sell her on them.
