Chris, To answer your question ... the recommendation of a family friend who has some experience in DIY audio suggested some improved dampening, replacing the capacitors in the cross over as well as changing out the internal wiring. The result would be an overall 'noticeable improvement'...

What's the benefit of the braid in the design? I've read some other forums of people using Home Depot wire as opposed to the CAT5. Can you really notice a difference in the braid design vs. say the normal 12 AWG speaker wire I have set up with my system now?
