It is bascialy a row of 18 inch high cabinets which span the width of the room. There are 18 inch wide doors which give access to storage and AV equipment. The TV and speakers (R, L Center) could sit on top, but I was thinking of wall mounting the TV.

Thanks for your advice. So it should not be a major issue if I add some sound absorbing material in the cabinet. Will placing the front of the speaker so it is flush with the front of the cabinet help any?
