    Outdoor Theater

Wow. Those look impressive! I bet they sound amazing. That is definitely a quality product! I wish I lived closer. Fate is working against me on this one. Is your room rather large? These look like they could fill a room. I'm trying to get scale off of the other items in the room and...

    Outdoor Theater

Walter, those look amazing and would probably be an amazing system outside. I hadn't thought about budget yet as I still wasn't sure if I should go with PA type speakers or if there was some alternative solution that I could run off of a regular surround receiver. Those speakers would probably...

    Outdoor Theater

Well, how about the same quality as what the Rockets produce outside? When we watched "Wreck it Ralph" (yeah, we keep it very kid friendly) the explosions were great and the sound was crisp. It sounded good all the way on the other side of our house. Of course, there is a lot of background...

    Outdoor Theater

Oh heck no. I'll bring them inside at the end of each showing. I just hate bringing out my Rockets because they are 100 lbs a piece and I have to carry them down from the second floor to the outside when I want to use them and then back upstairs when I am done. I would rather have something I...

    Outdoor Theater

It's been a long time since I have hung around on this forum. Life got busy and hobbies got put on hold. But, I'm back and since I had received such great advice here in the past I'm hoping to get more of it now. My newest twist is that I want my theater to be outdoors. I have a great setup so...

    Watching TV in 2 rooms

Watching TV in 2 rooms This is probably a super retarded question but I want to make sure before I try it. I watch TV in my living room…and I watch TV in my bedroom. I never watch in both rooms at the same time. Is it possible to use the HDMI from my receiver to send a signal to my TV in...

    AVR as a PrePro

Yeah. I'm trying to set up a windows home server and that will probably handle all of my streaming needs so there probably isn't a need for a networked receiver in my case.

    AVR as a PrePro

I'm glad you pointed out the fact that muli channel movies may sound better with the onkyo. That is pretty much all I will have this working on is for multi channel movies. Leaning more an more toward the onkyo offerings...not sure if I need the network functions though.

    AVR as a PrePro

Thanks for all the info. It doesn't seem as if any single one stands out above the other in regards to pre-pro duties (unless I am misinterpreting). I'm not worried about features, my #1 concern is giving me the best, most lifelike sound in the budget I have. I'd even forego HDMI all together...

    AVR as a PrePro

So, will the sound be any different from my current yammy if I get an onkyo 807?

    AVR as a PrePro

3d is the furthest thing from my mind. I personally think the 3d stuff isn't worth my time...besides, I need to have some kind of reason to still use the town cineplex every once in a while and if I have everything they have (like 3d) then there won't be any point. Heck, I still haven't gone...

    AVR as a PrePro

I'm looking at either upgrading my theater room AVR and moving my 663 into the living room OR getting a cheap AVR for my living room. If I go with a cheap upgrade in my living room then I don't really need to worry about HDMI since my TV still doesn't have HDMI. I figure any old cheap receiver...

    FS: Yamaha RX-V1600 Receiver (mint)

The wife put the kabosh on me. Sorry for the misdirection...I'm SO whipped!

    FS: Yamaha RX-V1600 Receiver (mint)

I happen to be looking for a good deal on a receiver and I don't even need HDMI. I think I will take you up on your offer. I'm a little nervous since I litterally just jumped on the computer 5 minutes ago with the idea of finding what is out there and then I run straight into this...

Axiom Audio On Wall Line of Speakers First Look

I echo that question. I know Axiom has had onwalls for awhile. I was looking at them a few years ago. Are these models different?

    HHGREGG Excellent Buying Experience

Funny you should mention that. I was just talking about HHGreg with my father and he told me the same story. He has had one in his are for a long time but doesn't go there for the same reasons you listed. Odd, I have heard good things about them from other sources though.

    HHGREGG Excellent Buying Experience

We have one opening up in the place of an old closed Circuit City store. Looking forward to checking them out. I have heard on other "deal shopper" forum that they tend to do very well on their pricing.

    Behringer B2030P/2031P $67-77

There is supposed to be some basic/simple mods to these speakers that can make a significant improvement in their already well received capabilities. I can't remember what they were off the top of my head and I never got around to personally doing the mods...but I thought I would throw it out...

Nintendo Wii Scores Netflix… But Why?

I think this makes perfect sense. Now the kids can stream their Dora the Explorer episodes to their own TV in the bedroom and I don't have to buy them anything extra to do it. Oh, and the kids don't care about 1080p. They are kids.

    Budget Blu-Ray player

I'll vote for the Samsung BD-P1600. It can be had for sub $150. It provides a stellar picture and it has additional funtionality that you can't get from the Panasonic...Netflix streaming and Pandora and Youtube.
