^^^ Good to see the Smoke Monster has found some work after LOST ... looks like he needs to lay off the Cheetos though - he's getting a bit chunky... :D

Home Theater, what do you recommend?

Start small but with the ability to upgrade. IOW future-proof so don't buy a receiver/system that 1 - does not support an external sub = sub pre-out, 2 - does not decode BD/HD audio formats, 3 - is less than 7.1, 4 - has less than 3 HDMI inputs. Your receiver is the "brain" of your system ...

Netflix Drops DVD Queue Editing in Apps & Devices

Hulu streaming is WAY better quality than Netflix. Their 720p HD is very nice and even 480p looks very good - much better than Netflix. I tried streaming Netflix last night (again) and was again disappointed with the quality so I went back to Hulu to watch the same content. Even with Hulu's...

    Image Shrink, Best Options?

I think before I'd spend nearly a grand on a rube-goldberg contraption I'd just MOVE the damn projector closer - no matter what it takes to do it .... that is after kicking whoever installed it right square in the arse. ;)

    what caused no sound ?

Only time I get no sound on my BD35 is on the early seasons of LOST on BD. I don't bet the "Previously on LOST" or first few lines of dialog until I back it up and then hit play - then the sound comes thru. Seems like a bug in how they encoded the discs because after season 3 all the discs work...

Cheetah TV wall mounts from Amazon?

I've installed a couple of the Cheetah mounts - the mount itself is decent quality steel but their lag bolts are absolute JUNK. They twist off with less than max torque applied. I had to replace the supplied lag screws with ones from a hardware store - so keep that in mind ...

Need an AV EXPERT to clarify some things...

You could do that and possibly feed the signal to the Pioneer from the Marantz if the Pio has a zone 2 line out.

    Setting up system

In addition to an audio/video receiver (AVR) you need an impedance matching speaker distribution device or switch. There are a lot of different manufacturers and methods used -- Google it. The ATON DLA system is pretty slick and relatively inexpensive for what it does.

You've gotta be kidding me....the sequel

Thank goodness it reduces glare ... I hate glare when I listen to music ... :p

Need an AV EXPERT to clarify some things...

Another note - you won't get a ".1" (sub LFE output) out of the receiver for a second zone. If you want run a sub in zone 2 you will have to get one with speaker wire pass-throughs and a crossover circuit built in - which would be a PITA for wiring (but could be done). And it still wouldn't be a...

Hmm..most expensive and quality Home Theater stuff out there?

Quarter mil $$ and weighing over a ton apiece? I guess if a person was rich enough to buy a set they'd be rich enough to hire a crew or forklift to move them around the room until they found the "sweet spot" ...

    What HDMI to get?

CL2 is rated for in-wall use ... if you're going under carpet you may want a flat cable. But yes, the one you mentioned would be good enough.

Basic Job Of An Av Receiver

As mentioned above and in a nutshell - what you need in a receiver is what you want/need it to do for your particular setup. The basic purpose is to provide surround sound power to your speakers (and possibly video to your display) - and there are many "extra features" available. ;)
