    Audio from cable to receiver

If I move the sat receiver, I won't be able to feed all of the cables throughout the house. I've never seen a vcr WITH TUNER, for that low, but I will check.

    Audio from cable to receiver

Sorry for the confusion. I have dish with 2 recievers. I have cables that run from the dish throughout the house, after they leave the sat receiver. They, of course all play the same channel. One receiver is in the garage, one is upstairs. On the main floor, I have a stereo receiver, which is...

    Audio from cable to receiver

I am trying to connect the satellite cable directly to my receiver. My receiver does not have a tuner built in, and the cable is broadcasting on channel 73. The receiver is not close to the satellite box, so a direct audio connection is not possible, but the audio is on the cable, if I could...

    HT Room Color?

Mine is a cranberry, that is, a fairly dark red. Reds easily fade to black as the light level decreases, and are easy to decorate with, carpets, chairs etc. The black leather chairs look particularly good. Good Luck.

    300 - the movie

I guess I'm too old Sure am glad I didn't buy it. I couldn't tell whether it was supposed to be a movie, or a video game that someone else was playing. The sound was good, but so what. :(

A voice of reason Thanks Swerd. I appreciate a voice of reason among the PC crowd. I think the FG panels will be just fine. I'm not afraid of the boogeyman either. While I appreciate the scientific approach to FG exposure, the common sense that fibers aren't going to magically escape tha panel...

PLEASE NOTE, IN THE PREVIOUS POST, FOR SOME REASON, IF YOU PLACE YOUR CURSOR ON hd, IT ADVERTISES SOME HITOOCHI UNIT. I DO NOT ENDORSE NOR SUPPORT THE PRACTICE OF TURNING MY POST INTO AN ADVERTISEMENT.

Well, I just found one online for 349. I also found one on e-bay for .98c!! I think you are right. We moved in in 1999, so I suspect that I got that unit in 2000 or 2001. I was serious about the dancing popcorn. I doubt that any of that stuff is in HD anyway!

I can't remember, and if I could, I would probably be embarrassed to say! :D If I had to guess, I would say I probably paid 450 for it new. I can't even remember how old it is. Technology changes and we get left in the dust. In 1973, my first year in college, I paid 100 for my first calculator...

The JVC is holding down the left side of the rack, so that a strong wind won't blow away the componants. Plus, someday, I might get the dancing popcorn and the "let's all go to the lobby" CD, and the JVC is a 3 CD changer, that could easily be programmed to do the pre-show, intermission, and...

I understand the concern, but in practice, I have not found a problem. When I dust the speaker tops, I never find any fibers. They are a bit itchy to make, though. ;) I'm not sure how the fibers are supposed to get out from behind the panels anyway. They sit flush against the wall! There is a...

The panels are 2 3/4" poplar, with a 45 bevel on the front edge. The middle strut is a french cleat. The panel is OC 703. The fabric is GOM. There are 10 of them. The entire front wall is GOM covered 703, but there are shollow false walls on the sides. The entire theater is only 14.5X18, so the...

The Sleepy Hollow Bijou! Here is our theater. It was built by me, a rank amatuer, with help from you guys, among others. It took about a year (I have a real job!). It is primarily video. DVDs sound great, plain stereo does not do well. Receiver Onkyo TXDS696 OPPO OPDV971H JVC XV M567...

    Room Design for Home Theatre

Wow! I'm not the best source to answer this, you will find that there are many on this site with expertise for your questions, and they are very good questions. When you are starting with new construction, you have many options that are not so easy after the room is built. One thing I might...

hunting for a screen with ZERO idea/experience

Order samples Almost all of the big companies will send you pieces of their materials for free. I ordered Carada, Dalight and Stewart samples. They all arrived in less than a week. I taped them on the wall, turned on the projector and varied the light level in the room, to cover the bases. I...
