    First Real Bike Thoughts

There you go ... and only you can answer if you'll really ride it for 10+ years. Just did a quick estimate on my riding over the years (only get 5-6 months a year, never ride in winter), best conservative guess is I have about 20,000kms on my Kona. So that works out to less than 3 cents per km...

    First Real Bike Thoughts

I'm with you on that and it's great you've found a long term fitness outlet that you enjoy over the long term, you're in the top 1%. Very few people I know fall into this category, my brother and a few friends have expensive gear but it's a way of life for them, so money well spent. For the vast...

But which did you own first, clock radio or HT .. focus (shouldn't this be a neon, the econo viper?) or viper? Yup, clock radio and focus ... :) Nothing against getting a good bike, just make sure you're going to stick with it and be able to appreciate the difference, if any. You can always...

    First Real Bike Thoughts

Ya, I just wanted to throw it out there that getting a new bike for around half the price would do you just fine, no special bike gear needed. I used to ride with a group from my work many years ago (actually my bike must be older than 10 years now that I think of it, more like 16) and few of...

    First Real Bike Thoughts

Trying to get rid of your spare tire or weight from your wallet? Sorry but I never understood first bike owners getting such an expensive bike for just a workout. A level of quality is good providing you keep on using it but many I've seen don't and it just collects dust in a year or two...

Ah ... very nice, like to hear your overall impressions of it once you get used to Win 8.1. I've been waiting for this "convertible" market to mature a bit and will likely replace my old laptop with one.

Samuel L. Jackson gets confused for Laurence Fishburne

Now that was funny, wouldn't let the guy out of it either. I think he'll play a good part in the new Robocop, he did great in the Matrix. :)

Really Boring Stuff Only III: Resurrection

Been a bad winter for dogs up here as well, coldest winter in over 60 years, so we haven't been spending much time outside. Hopefully we'll get a break soon as she's getting a bit of "cabin fever". On the positive side, she turned 2 years old yesterday and really liked the extra treats. :)

    Tablet recommendations

There are a number of tablets that offer 3g/4g connectivity built in and some are just wifi, like the surface pros. Tethering is always an option if you carry a smart phone with you so your speed is based on your phone's transfer rate. I've tethered my samsung tablet off other peoples phones...

Didn't even know they have 3g/lte versions ... is this an aftermarket addon? For a work tablet, do you need more than Wifi?

Based on what you want I'd go with a surface pro 2 tablet (if the screen is big enough for you) and get the keyboard.

    Cars

Wait a second ... if you have "upgraditis" why are you worried about "problems own the road"? :) I mean, you'll likely upgrade again before any real troubles start! BTW, most people I know with higher HP cars don't drive the s**t out of them, if fact, only one person I know does.

Ya ... back in early 2013 ... they had his picture on milk cartons and such. Don't remember how he was found, maybe someone else does. :)

I know ... I was impressed I got it done and with a migraine to boot! :) The VW diesel however was not impressed being left outside for good part of the day with a -42c windchill, definitely on it's last year for that battery.

    Programmable thermostats?

Of course I read your post, I'm just not buying into it that the flagship models are anything more than a few percent more efficient .... I know how marketing works. :) You almost always end up paying through the nose to be on the bleeding edge with the top of the line models, regardless of the...
