I use a Monster power unit. It supposedly conditions and filters the power for better audio and video quality. I do think it makes a slight difference. Anything that helps filter out noise from audio/video is worth considering.

I think that price is a big issue, but performance is just as important. It's worth to pay a little more to have good performance. I don't really care about looks of the cable.

I was reading in the Audioholics Home Theater System Guide and they recommend the Tripp Lite HT10DBS as a power conditioner/surge suppressor. Is this really a good product to buy? I know the price is good at around $80. Is it better than the Monster conditioners?
