PSA Room Size Knob - Graph?

bloaty is very subjective. the right thing to do is to find out your room frequency response, so you'd have the correct next step. barring that, yes, use the room gain compensation to "try" and see if the bloatiness goes away. (adjusting towards small)

PSA Room Size Knob - Graph?

basically, you get more low end output with the larger the room setting. i consider the "small" room setting to be some form of neutering. i'll consider it if my room was less than 1k cubic feet in volume.

    PSA S7201

the depth dimension is a deal killer for me. i have free hand from the wife to get ANY sub to fit a specific location in our room (even stacked), but this ... i just can't. if i build a dedicated HT though, you can be sure i'm getting a pair of these, horizontal front center and rear center.

    Power Sound Audio Analysis Paralysis

arrived november headroom/output wise, the V3600 definitely has more than what I require i have my PC13 5db hot, but i control my overall output by the master volume to keep the pc13 from bottoming in the grenade scene in WWZ. with the V3600, i believe i'm at about 8 or 9db hot and ever...

Good sub for Rock music, tight punchy bass, no boom. Under $1000.

most modern subwoofers have fixed high passed outs (80hz i think) but my current audio setup just let the main speakers run full range (so i can turn off the subs when i don't need them)

Good sub for Rock music, tight punchy bass, no boom. Under $1000.

at the time, i had a dedicated crossover dividing the frequencies and adding the EQ boost to the 110hz frequency. but yes, you can leave the mains running full range (more issues with this though)

Good sub for Rock music, tight punchy bass, no boom. Under $1000.

in the past, when i was chasing the kick in the chest. i've done this: set mains on the pre/amp processor to full range, connect one sub to the LEFT pre out and the other in the RIGHT pre out. adjust lowpass crossover of the subs to taste (i use a power amp so the main speakers get a...

Good sub for Rock music, tight punchy bass, no boom. Under $1000.

to add to what he said, i would also recommend stereo subs so you can increase your crossover. the kick in the chest is indeed around 110hz (but this would have to be boosted a bit, to get the same concert/club feel)

i couldn't escape the pull of a ported sub. went with the ported option. once i save enough, i'll get the dual sealed option to compare as well.

once upon a time, i had the SB13 in my room, it was fantastic for music then i tried a PC12NSD which promptly trounced the SB13 for movies. i'm just afraid i'll lose or miss that low end kick.

price of no consequence. BUT, floorspace max of 20"x40" thinking out loud: dual V1500 (due to 14hz extension) dual V1800 v3600i or quad S1500 (easily moveable, nice finish) S3600i dual S3000i (nice finish) i'm a ported guy for that low bass kick, but i'm curious about that in-room...
