Manos: The Hands of Fate - RiffTrax in theaters

FYI, yes Mike was the head writer for MST3K at that time. "Manos - The Hands of Fate" was the last show of season 4 (episode 424). As a metter of fact, Mike played Torgo as a pizza delivery man on the ending Deep 13 skit of that episode (he does a great Torgo).

Anthem MRX 700 have enough power to power Studio 100s

Hi Jinjuku, I've been busy at work, which unfortunately carries over to home life, so I don't get much time to check out audioholics. Since I had knowledge about the original post here, I decided to answer. I hope all is well with you. Cheers!

Anthem MRX 700 have enough power to power Studio 100s

This is the set-up I have in my living room (which is similar in size to your dimensions). This combo works very well together and sounds fantastic, even at relatively loud volumes. I wouldn't hesitate going with this set-up.

    Physics question

postscript By the way, before the onslaught of replies to my post that physics is changed all the time -- it is not changed all the time. Physics is continuously modified over time. For instance, special relativity modified Newton's laws of motion, and general relativity modified Newton's law...

    Physics question

motion requires Maxwell's equations Many have given excellent responses! One needs electromagnetism to produce motion as described by Maxwell's 4 equations of electromagnetism. Magnets by themselves will not produce any type of motion. To quote Scotty from the original Star Trek, you can't...

    In need of A/V shelving

Make sure the glass shelves can support the weight of your components. Glass typically does not support heavier (+40 pounds) items.

Clash of the Titans Remake - Warner Bros

I just saw it in 3D and thought it was pretty good. I actually liked it better than Avatar. There was an acknowledgement to Ray Harryhaussen through the brief appearance of one of the props from his 1981 movie. The only disappointing thing was the slight rewrite of the Perseus-Andromeda story...

    Can you I.D. this?

My oldest brother bought this exact same Zenith stereo console in the late 60s. He gave it to my parents in the early 70s when he discovered components. As I recall, the audio didn't sound very good and the turntable stopped working in the mid 70s, though the radio still worked. This unit...

Looking for 5.1 speakers recommendation in $5-6K range

Judge speakers based on your own ears Don't necessarily listen to "web blog" opinions, including mine here. The best thing to do is to visit various audio stores and listen to a variety of speaker brands. I just bought a Paradigm Studio v.5 system (2 100s, 1 CC-590, 2 ADP-590, and a Sub...

Finally Bought the Paradigm V5 Studios

Sorry this took so long My new Paradigm v.5 Studios sound and look fantastic! The Sub-12 is incredible, especially after calibrating it with the PBK-1. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Finally Bought the Paradigm V5 Studios

Thanks Adam! Yes, it's been a while. I got a little tired reading many of the posts, so I thought I would take a little break for a while. Unfortunately, I just got done reading the posts on one of the threads on the "Steam Vent," and I think I'm tired again.

Finally Bought the Paradigm V5 Studios

I've finally purchased the Paradigm Studio speakers I have been planning to get for my living room system. I bought the V5 edition of the Studio 100 towers, the CC-590 center, and a pair of ADP-590 surround speakers. In addition, I bought the Studio V5 Sub12 subwoofer (and the PBK-1 subwoofer...

    Star Trek

I just saw it I just got back from the movie, and as a Star Trek nerd, I was very happy with the movie. It was very entertaining. I won't go into details to spoil anything, but they did do an excellent job with it. I only have a few minor quibbles which I'll hold off on for now.

    Tesla Lives!

FYI, the physics community honored Tesla years ago by naming the unit of magnetic field strength in the SI system as the "tesla" which is equal to one newton/coulomb/(meter/second).

    Ford Vs. Chevy

My current car is an Acura RDX which is by far the best car I have ever owned. The 2nd best was a 1991 Chevy Corsica (no majors repairs needed until the very end near 100,000 miles). But to answer the original question, since my dad worked for Chevy (at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI) for...

    Sunshine on Blu-ray

There is a difference between fiction and fantasy. Fiction means that a story is not based upon events that have happened in the past (or present). However, fiction should still try to tells stories of events that could possibly happen (at least make an attempt to follow the rules of reality as...
