    Amp protection lights on

Interesting comment by Gene Delasrio in his review of LBM speakers....... "Class-A/B may not be quite as efficient as class-D, but it is more reliable on the whole, and with such a massive heatsink, it looks like a unit that was built to last."

Focal Aria Evo X No.4 Loudspeaker Review

I don't see an issue with the aforementioned amp modules for any of Focal's offerings. Their measurements have no issues with 2 ohm loads. I'm not a huge fan of Focal's design implementations but these amps will do fine. Unless you want to put some extra money into a couple of AB amps on the...

Parasound A21+ power amp for my front L/R speakers -- overkill? Other options?

Very nice setup, your front 3 speakers surely love current! They will do well with Bruno's class D amps. By the way, Bruno is main guy in the design/development of both the Hypex and Purifi modules, here's a good article that he and Gene worked together on a few years ago, don't let anyone...

Need a new three channel amp.

There are plenty of AMPs available in the US available for well below your max budget, AB, AB hybrids, G, H, and Class D. You definitely want to make sure that your amp has failed and not another component or speaker so you can appropriate money correctly. If all 3 channels developed the same...

Looking for schematic for Cambridge Soundworks P300HD subwoofer

...the boards are now made by robots using surface mount components, again installed by robots. The the third issue is that these ubiquitous class D amps, are very complicated and a nightmare to work on, even under the best of situations. So, that is why I have so much vintage equipment, as it...

Favorite Amplifier that you could buy, but don’t buy…

-Interesting question. It really comes down to what one user can afford.. If it was choice then it would be a European brand. Most American brands are ove priced rubbish, and with the exchange rates are completely out of anyone' thinking. Consider the fact that the american price has to...

    Amp protection lights on

If I would buy a new amplifier then a good class D is what I most likely would buy, and as @everettT wrote low heat generation is important to me as well. Also note that an efficient power supply is very important as well as most of the time the amplifier will output low power (1-5 watt or so)...

Will a 3-channel separate Amp mellow big two tower speakers?

...some technical reviews that included bench test measurements, but I found none on the internet. The March Audio amps (seems to be the only class D Bruno Putrzey designed amps build in Australia) is preferred mainly because it is class D, that I think is the trend, sooner or later they will...

Favorite Amplifier that you could buy, but don’t buy…

...it better be the cat's meow, lol. While they measure "well", better hope one has a different brand of preamp (at this time). It would take a long time blowing up some of the best class D offerings before those amps make sense, and I come from the heavy boutique brands going back to the late '70s.

Focal Goes Active with $40k DIVA UTOPIA Wireless Speakers!

I don't dispute that the AB amps are most likely excellent, but they are still inefficient and heat generating amps with the best class D amps performing better (not audibly, likely).

Best available A/V Processor for a 5.1 System

I'm a big fan of the Marantz AV10 plus an ATI amp. The new Class D models are great, and their AB amplifiers are second to none. They also have a 7 year warranty. My clients love them. Here's a link to the ATI website. https://www.ati-amp.com/

Failed Analog inputs on Marantz SR7015

...replacement for the 7015. Am really not happy with this the sales guy from where I purchased it tried to bluff me claming the 7015 was a class D amplifier (it's class AB) and as the Cinema 50 is class AB it has more power, the guy must think I am thick, I pointed out to him it was more to do...

    Amp for RTI A9

Forgot about those monoprice amps, yeah OP those are also solid choice. Just a note, many on AH like those Buckeye amps solid also. They are class D. Very good spec's gobs of power plus weigh a lot less. But cost is about the same as class A/B amps..

Failed Analog inputs on Marantz SR7015

...sound. As for Pioneer I have owed 2 before I got my first Marantz and have stuck with them ever since, I was given a Pioneer SC-LX57-S just before I purchased the 7015, for the life of me I could not get the sound anywhere like what I wanted I wonder now was it because it is a class D amplifier.
