    bi-amping speakers?

Yes maybe, but then again that too is probably not audible.

    bi-amping speakers?

Your talking about passive bi-amping which is a complete waste time and wire. You would still only be getting 60watts to the woofers and 60watts to the tweeters. That is not the same as 110watts. Now if you were actively bi-amping with an electronic x-over that is a completely different animal...

    Physics question

Also, it only goes against the laws of physics until someone figures out a way to do it. :)

I just got banned from Polk Forums...

So have I and I honestly would not want anything to do with audiofools who think cables and wire sound different or think their esoteric amps magically sound better than a well built pro amp or well built anything for that matter.

I just got banned from Polk Forums...

I would consider it a badge of honor. It would be like me getting banned from DU. Not that I would ever even visit that commie site.:)

    Crying, bawling during movies

I had a small lump in my throat at the end of "Empire of the Sun" but I have never cried at a movie.

    Physics question

I meant that I never had a magnet loose it's magnetism on any electric device I ever owned is all I was trying to say.

    My Linux build

Screwy printer issues like this are always hard to solve. It usually ends up being what you least expect too.

    My Linux build

How is this for irony? My Linux box prints fine, printer sharing is turned on, set to broadcast, Macs can't see it, Linux uses CUPS, CUPS was written by Apple:confused: When print sharing is turned on with the macs, they see it fine and so does the Linux box. Very confusing. I hate issues like this.

    Physics question

That's how I understood it to be. The rest I knew but thanks anyway:) I once built a DC motor for a HS science class project. I made the damn thing out of nails and wood, and a lantern battery. It worked. I made a speaker that year too. Built the whole thing. magnet, coil, cone. It worked too...

    Physics question

Yes thats true but size should not matter. The small electric motor magnets don't have their poles line up. Not that I have ever encountered anyway. I mean my slot cars when I was young, the motor on my bait box aerator, electric razors trimmers, various kids toys, speakers, etc. They all...

    Physics question

Hmm, Ok I will buy that. If it did go I wonder how quickly the magnets would loose their magnetism? Minutes, hours, days, weeks? And if that is true then why don't the permanent magnets in an electric motor quickly have their poles line up?

    Physics question

As I said I am no engineer but here is my idea so tear it apart and tell my why it won't work. You have three pieces. An inner ring, an outer ring and a larger outer ring. The inner ring spins and has magnets placed around it with all the same poles facing outwards. The next ring is connected...

    Physics question

Actually, your are mistaken on this one point. Rare earth magnets/metals are not rare at all. That is a misleading term. They are as common as lead or copper. They just don't appear in large concentrated quantities. The ore has to be extracted, processed and turned into magnets. This I remember...
