Not really. The 5805's more immense power supply and other amp tweaks make it superior to the 5803's.

Price really isn't an issue with cables. For a very minimal cost you can design an interconnect with low capacitance, plenty of shielding and solid terminations. The cosmetics and marketing appeal is usually what drives the outlandish prices and psuedo science claims.

Actually the amp section of the 5805 are not your run of the mill receiver amps. I would put them up against pretty much any 7CH amp in the 2-3k price range. Not only are they powerful, but more importantly have excellent signal to noise ratio, linearity, low output impedance and distortion...

The M60's and M80s are a more dynamic sounding speaker than the M22's. The M60 is definately a good tower speaker and the M80 builds on it further by increasing output power handling, SPL capabilities, and a bit larger soundstage but a little more difficult load to drive than the M22 or M60s.

Depending on the speakers sensitivity and impedance/phase profile, room characteristics and listening preferences, you may or may not need another amp. The RXV1400 is a great pre/pro. Your best route is to use it as such and buy an external amp to power your speakers (assuming you need one)...

I would go with the M22's crossed over at 80Hz and add an EP500 or two :rolleyes: You will achieve better midrange performance out of the M22's.

The problem is there really are no standards established for multichannel testing yet :rolleyes: "All Channels Driven" is NOT a realistic test condition as we have stated many times in the past. Its a worst case test with an ideal test load that at best will demonstrate wall voltage sag...

Yes I chose the primary listening positions. In addition, since my speakers are a truncated line array, I also took measurements at varying heights from the 4 primary positions. Check out my Calibration Suggestions on Audyssey for further information.
