Budget Bookshelf Speaker Shootout 2009
I am surprised the $150/pr Yamaha's did so well. Those are an old design but I guess an oldie but goodie ;)

The Speaker Company TST2 Floorstanding Speaker Review
There is no sharp dive. The response of the tweet out to 20kHz is quite normal, especially since it was taken in-room over 1 meter away. If you think thats bad, trying measuring a metal dome tweet with a phase plug on axis up to 20kHz

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review
I noticed that anytime someone brings this up their post count is under 5. I hope you're not a shill for a competing magazine or brand  The fact that you claim to "Not" see banners for them now that the review is up is puzzling since the banners have been running continously for...

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review
Yes its exactly what I meant. The idea is the subs get crossed over around 120Hz and fill in the upper bass to give that fuller vocal presence. Just b/c a sub is crossed over at 120Hz doesn't mean it stops playing bass at 121Hz. Vocal energy goes down to the 100Hz range.

Official Yamaha RX-Z7 Receiver Review Thread
Yes I even connected the unit in my primary theater room between my Epson projector and Denon DVD Player. So I ruled out the rack heat issue and the Samsung as the source. The only other possible issue would be the cables (Impact Sonicwave) but doubtful b/c I use them on all my other gear and...

Official Yamaha RX-Z7 Receiver Review Thread
I am trying firmware updates to see if it helps but I am hitting a brick wall of sinking alot of time into this and not getting resolve. I am confident that Yamaha will do whatever is necessary to fix this however. I'd be interested in hearing more about the white paper you'd like to author...

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review
Not sure about the drivers but that tweet looks like the old Infinity poly cell design. Tom is publishing a TST2 tower review tomorrow which I believe are similar to a Sapphire speaker system from awhile back.

Official Yamaha RX-Z7 Receiver Review Thread
Honestly I am not sure anymore. Yamaha sent me a 2nd RX-Z7 and it has the same video problem as the first. I also tested it on a different display to rule out my Samsung. This will now have to be elevated further with Yamaha engineering in Japan. Stay tuned....

APC Silver Blowout Sale!
That's unusual. I had a few PC based power conditioners go bad from them on me and they were quick to replace them. Try this contact: Timothy.Gilbert@apcc.com |((office): 800-890-4272 Ext. 5360

APC Silver Blowout Sale!
I have to say this is an insane deal. I bought an H15 for my parents whom are always paranoid their equipment will fry in our next Florida lightening storm. I've been using H15s, S15s and S20s in my reference systems and love them!

tSc does some of their own design work such as the TSAT system I just finished reviewing and will post tomorrow. But many of their designs are open tooled in china and you would be surprised how many speaker brands run on the same lines! If you are thinking about getting the MB Quarts...

I agree if Absolute Sound hasn't reviewed a product, then it can't be that good. Quite frankly we simply don't have orgasms over audio products like some of the esoteric mags tend to no matter how good the products are

Yamaha is sending me a replacement unit. I will also test the bad unit on another display to rule out a Samsung/Yamaha compatibility issue. Interesting that its a function of resolution for you and your lines are horizontal while mine are vertical. Worst case scenario, Crutchfield will...

Wii Have a New All-Time Best Selling Video Game!
Wii is a blast if you have children. Even my 21 mo old loves watching us bowl or duck hunting. My personal favorite is shooting pool since I don't have space in any spare rooms to put a full sized pool table, this is the closest I can come to playing pool at home. :D
