People get creative when talking about class of amp let alone the whole warmth/bright thing. I don't believe the current series is class D in any case. I'd simply compare feature sets/prices for an avr choice, maybe the flavor of dsp you want to use.

As others above have indicated you will get SOTA measurements from Hypex and Purifi Class D modules. You will not hear a better sound than those anywhere— period. Check the spec comparisons over at at audio science review which almost specializes in Class D measurements...

@PENG, not knocking Class D amps, many use them in their setups, very happy with the results. Funny you mentioned how easy Class D Amps are for placement, plus weight a lot less. I dropped a class A/B, 5 channel Amp on my right hand few years back, stayed swollen for almost a month.
