...AVRs are Class G assembled in Vietnam, same factory that builds the Audio Control products. The subject lineup is a totally different platform, amplifiers are Class D, DSP is a 4-core Cirrus Logic. The source is in China, same factory that builds Cambridge & NAD products.. Just my $0.02... ;)

It's mostly because there is not a lot of 200W+ 7 channel amps that aren't Class D. 5 Channel there are are more AB amps out there but 200W or higher are often something you see in a more dedicated 2-channel amp. You'll likely find a lot more 200W A/B monoblocks than you will 7 channel amps...

A 1 ohm test is not very useful. A speaker that has an impedance as low as 1 ohm at any point is a bad speaker with the crossover in resonance and not fit for use. I know some very expensive speakers do that, but they are not worth 2 cents. In an active speaker an amp will never see a 1 ohm...
