High SPLs in Arenas with relation to Championship Series

I was just watching an interview at the Montreal Bell Centre. The sports arena speaker reported that SPLs were often reaching 115-120 dB, at the recent Montreal Canadiens' Eastern NHL Championship games. I'm sure the same loudnesses occur in large arenas in the US and most likely worldwide.

As we know, SPLs above 100db are to be avoided if someone wants to protect his/her hearing. Hearing aid manufacturers and retailers will be making more money pretty soon.

Yep. Hockey playoffs. Literally deafening. I bring plugs with me to most events just in case. Regular games aren't that bad.

It's typical at some major sports events to see 115dB reading on screens in the background.
Basket ball may be the worst offender.
