TC Sounds to build their own complete Subs

I don't know about ya all, but I'm pretty excited - for what I gather TC makes one of the finest sub drivers around and they to start building full subs - this is very exciting !

At long last, fully finished subwoofers, from the pioneers of high-power, hi-fidelity woofers. By early 2013 TCSounds will at long last compete with the world’s best and most costly powered subs, offering up a trio of brutally powerful and exquisitely accurate self-powered models.

Given our latest generation 15″ LMS-R woofers as starters, we’ll pair new digital RipCurl Amps™ running from 1200-2400 watts and full pro-grade DSP control for a rare and potent combo. Then consider finely crafted American cabinets with full test assembly in the USA.

Naturally you can expect trend setting features such as wireless remote control, digital room correction, and pro-grade components throughout. We’ve built for the world’s most demanding customers for years after all.

Read more about the beefy ported LMS15-V1 and elegantly sized LMS15-P1 sporting twin passive radiators next month. Pre-orders fall, 2012.

These sub will ROCK, but probably not going to be budget oriented :(

Can't wait to see what they come up with. Hopefully Audioholics can do a review of some of their models.

The three port design reminds me of the PB13 Ultra.

Just curious, is there any benefit from having three separate ports over one larger single port?
I understand you could plug a port, or two ports in this case, and this will adjust the tuning aspects and frequency response of the sub. Is that the only benefit? Aside from aesthetics?
Personally I think 3 ports across the front looks pretty hawt. Sorry to my FV15's! :p

I never understood why TC Sounds (or most other driver manufacturers) didn't post various box plans for their subs on their site.

I guess this is a step closer.

I like the functionality of the controller on the top (versus in the back, which can be a pain if you have it pushed against a wall), but not the aesthetics. I'd prefer the box and control panel to match color, and that there be a flushed mounted push-to-extend control knob.

One large port would prevent bracing from spanning across the port while the three port design allows two braces to bridge the port area.

Plus having multiple ports allows for variable tuning.

They sound very impressive. I can't wait to see what those folks dreamed up.

It is still hard to beat a cabinet from funkywaves in their gorgeous finishes.

Pretty cool.

They also appear to be coming out with their own plate amps (That look a lot like the Pascal based DSP amps and MiniDSP amps) out currently by the end of 2012. Though this may be old news.

Wish more people would consider putting these modules into a rack based power amp versus having to affix it to the sub itself.

Those look pretty cool, but I think they will be price way beyond the typical ID subs like SVS and Rythmik. I think these will be closer in price to the big Velodynes and JL subs.

They would have to be priced well below $4K (closer to $3K) to compete. Because two SVS PB13-Ultras ($4K total) would outperform it in SPL, distortion, and room coverage. I would even be willing to bet that two SVS PB12-Pluses ($2800 total) would also give them a run for their money.

Two 13" woofers have a surface area which is nearly 35% larger than a single 15" woofer.

Two 12" woofers have a surface area which is more than 20% larger than a single 15" woofer.

You really are trying too hard to troll. LOL at an SVS driver being on par with a TC driver.

Never have I compared a single SVS driver to a TC driver. But yes, two of the SVS PB13-Ultra (13") drivers can easily outperform a single TC 15" woofer.

It's simple physics really. TC are not Gods, a 15" woofer can only do so much...

What is what the hupla is about???
I did say in right there in the first post:

a SINGLE LMS15 sub will likely to outperform any current SINGLE SVS sub..
It'll also very likely to cost more... how much more? - no one knows

If someone is in market for SINGLE high performing sub, TC subs might be the answer...

It's way to early to speculate who will "beat" who , especially with dual subs

Lets just relax, sit back and try not to make assumptions - you know what they say about assumptions

Most DIYers have used & modded these drivers in every imaginable configuration so NO suprises of what they'll be capable of....the only question...will be cost and who will they be catering too? For my money I'd sooner have Nathan @ FA build my cabinet...using the same driver with better craftmanship and lower cost likely....:)

I'm definitely excited to see what they bring to market. They certainly have the driver, but the amp and build will be the challenging part.

Looks very cool, but I don't expect these to be very cheap either. :( I would expect them to be pretty stiff competition for JL Audio and Velodyne.

I expect them to wipe the floor with JL and Velodyne.
