Do you have your calibration disk ready?
After thinking about this some more, I bet I don't even cal it. I will just put it in THX cinema mode, turn the contrast down a notch and be done with it. I have been watching this for 3 months so anything will be an improvement.

Normally I would have just got a replacement the day after I saw the first star but this was a fight between Carolyn and I.

I didn't mention it but I quit my job 2 months ago and just started a new one so she is a little paranoid. Turns out that a low paying job is more stressful than corporate BS of a large company so I'm back working for the big man.

Hey, congrats, man. Sounds like a good move if it has you less stressed.

Just in case you've forgotten during your break from corporate life, warm up your hands and be sure to cup them gently.

I really thought I wanted out of the corporate world and I took that job at the small, local company. They showed me a bloated commission plan, gave me the same accounts and territory I had at the previous job and was willing to fight my non-compete. Within the first 2 months I was their top seller but the commission checks never came. They had the plan so convoluted that you couldn't figure out how much revenue you were bringing in so it was impossible to prove they were screwing you. They kept saying that my pipeline was looking great and the money was coming but it never did. I stayed there a full year as I didn't want a big hit on my resume. During that year, I was having to use 1K/mo of my own money just to pay the bills.

I still don't like the corp world butI sure like the checks they hand me.

I thought a heard a truck but it was a loud car.

I went to Rat Shack to purchase a swivel HDMI adapter that I don't even know if I need. It was 16 bucks and it is like 2 bucks at Monoprice so I didn't get it.

Darn you, Greg. Now I'm checking the UPS tracking site to see if one of my shipments gets on the truck today. It arrived in Tucson before 6am, but it doesn't say that it's on the truck. Oddly, it's been listed as arriving tomorrow (Saturday) all week. This was only sent UPS standard delivery, though, which I didn't think included Saturday's.
Mystery solved. The UPS site updated to show that the package was transferred to USPS, who does deliver on Saturday. I don't think it got to them in time to deliver today, though.

Nice.

The Panny TC-P65GT50 is here and installed. What should have taken 10 minutes took a couple of hours as I had a handshake issue with the U-Verse box. After refusing to change HDMI cables and disconnecting and reconnecting everything I finally gave up, ran to RS, got the cheapest cable they had and it fixed the issue. Being stubborn really bites me at times.

So far 65" looks way smaller than 73". Haven't messed around with video set up but it looks pretty darn good right out of the box.

I slim display really reminds me of how bad all my cables look behind the credenza.

Pictures suck as I didn't even tried hard, I will get better ones later.

Congrats! They're so cute when they're young and small like that.

:D I just have a 50". A 65" would be huge.

Our 58" in the family room got too small 3 days in.:D The wife wants a flat panel in the living room. (still rockin' the 36" JVC CRT...) That 58" may be moving. Greg, let us know how you like the new Panny. It's tops on my list at the moment.:)

Congrats, It looks great and sure as heck takes less space and has much better viewing angle !
I love my newish 55ST30 - I watch it from 8" - and it still plenty of big for us :)
I'd love to see them both next to each other and compare, but in any case - I can't possibly complain about PQ as it is awesome (comparing to old LG 42" 720p, RIP)

So far so good. When I am actually watching it, the screen size seems pretty good, I think the DLP was just so massive in every way that it just seems like this one is small.

I must of had the DLP a little over cooked as this one seemed a little dull or flat at first(PQ) but I am quickly realizing that I am just seeing very natural and beautiful color and contrast. The Panny in the bedroom is likely overcooked too but that's her TV and she likes it that way.

About to plug in the first BD and see what this thing does. I even bought a box of $1 Wall-mart popcorn so I'm doing it right...

I do believe this is going to be a keeper.

The picture is just so natural and stunning with 1080p sources. The blacks are incredible at night and sharpness is spot on.

I have experienced no plasma "buzz" and no IR what so ever.

Daytime viewing with the window shades up are no problem, the picture barely even looks washed out in the light and if you change it to the THX Bright setting, it handles the light really well.

Looks great, I'm sure you will love it. I know it's tough to go from 73" to 65". Are you going to have it ISF calibrated after it's broken in?

Hey there Greg, it's Greg. I'm never coming back to Texas, as I no longer have family there, and also, it is a sweltering hellhole.
Might you should be deciding to see some pretty rocks and waterfalls, you could swing by, you can't stay, as I do not trust your kind, but visit is okay.
