Well, if you head over to aintitcoolnews, you'll see an article with this headline:

"Harry says forget about ALIEN & ALIENS before going in to see PROMETHEUS, Ridley is up to something different!!!"

Hopefully that doesn't count as a spoiler for anyone. Ridley has been saying that all along.

I hear it's about the "beings" that crashed on the planet from the alien movie. That was there ship they found in alien.

Saw the movie . . .

I saw Prometheus is IMAX 3D today. On the good side, the set designs were amazing and the movie overall is gorgeous. This was also probably the best live action 3D movie that I've seen as far as 3D goes (Avatar is a close 2nd for me). The 3D is not overdone, it just adds very nicely to the movie experience, IMO.

I won't spoil anything about the plot. I will say that you will likely come out of the movie feeling disappointed - either a little or a lot, depending on your expectations for the film.

I am not sorry I saw it at the theater, though. Like I said, the visuals are stunning. It is worth seeing it on a big, bright screen just for that reason alone. Personally, I was hoping for something more profound from the story based on how Scott and Lindelof hyped the film. That's what I get for having such high hopes going in I guess . . .

I agree with the above fully. I thought it was a good film, but simply not a great one. Worthwhile going to see on the big screen and enjoyable, but no more than that.

I'd give it a B. Hard to live up to the hype on this one.

The 3-D was definitely the best I've seen so far. The dirt on the helmets was cool. I especially liked the scene where David was looking at star charts on the Engineer ship.

The best 3D I've seen period is still Despicable Me :) This one is pretty much a must own BD for 3D owners.

Red Letter Media

This video asks many of the same questions I had about the movie. Please do not watch if you haven't seen it yet!!!!

Red Letter Media talks about Prometheus - SPOILERS - YouTube
Very nice!! That video could have gone on for another 10 minutes at least, though. They were being kind I guess.

Here are a few more:

1) Is Damon Lindelof retarded?
2) How does Damon Lindelof keep getting writing gigs?
3) If I see Damon Lindelof on the street, will I punch him in the face? Spoiler alert - the answer is YES!!

I didn't finish it yet because I am waiting for the 3D BD to show up, but this movie seems pretty good so far. Great sound even just via Amazon. I ordered the BD and they gave me a free rental online, so I watched about half of it last night.

Finished it last night and my opinion didn't change. It fit in with the rest of the series and I thought it was a pretty decent flic. The BD looks a LOT better than streamed via Amazon HD even with a fast connection, and it looked even better in 3D.

Just finished prometheus, it's a worthwhile rental if you're into this type of film but I did expect more, so a little disappointed in the end. Might be interesting to see where/if they go somewhere with this. On the plus side, the visuals and sound were indeed pretty good.

There was an interview with Ridley and he said there will be 1, possibly 2 more films in this range before the events of Alien.

I purchased the Blu Ray over the weekend but didn't have a chance to watch it yet. Waiting for my younger daughter to finish midterms so her and I can watch it together.
