Living Room 2 channel system

Just finished putting together my pretty simple music system for my small apartment living room

NAD T515 universal disc player
AudioSource Pre One/A preamp
pair of Denon POA4400 monoblock amps

initially, running them direct, they sounded very bright. after a little adjustment, they sound very open and transparent. i am very happy with them.

they sound amazing, the way they put their tweeters in the center of the aluminum mid-ranges (which btw are the best sounding mids i've ever heard) gives an amazingly good image of the highs and mids, they are very bright though, if you have ever heard any of polks monitor speakers they are comparable to them. the ones i used to own were ultra-low in distortion and had excellent transparency, the tweeters also don't beam like many do, they have an ultra-wide image and great horizontal off axis response.

Thanks. I've always wanted to have a pair of coaxial speakers, but never found the opportunity.

Got an absolutely amazing deal....$250 plus 1 hour of tattooing for KEFs AND a pair of MTX Lolita subs AND some very serious speaker stands. (I have 0 use for the Lolitas or the stands, but I'll take 'em if they are offered! Down to the basement with the rest of the big pile of unused gear.)

for just music listening, I much prefer the way that good floor standers sound alone, and the titanic in my theater is more than enough in there. they came in the deal, so I took them.perhaps I can sell them.

Living Room 2 channel *updated*

Done some rearranging since I have last posted here. First off, ditched the television from the living room. Took up way too much focus, and the last 4+ months without it in there have been really nice, much more productive and spend more quality time with my family.
Put the speakers on stands, they image muuuch better being up another 6 inches. Kept the amps with them to keep the speaker cable runs short, and moved all the other equipment into the closet around the corner. Just trying to keep it a little cleaner overall.

What are you using for stands? I have my rear speakers on end tables sitting on top of stacked tile. My wife hates it...

Not sure who makes them, got them in a deal a while back, but they are specifically made for audio, They have isolation spikes on the bottom as well.

i would do nasty despicable things to have those denon blocs and those KEFs! your new configuration looks much cleaner and more classy! your audio gear is so nice, it really deserves its own showcase without the distraction of the television! now if i could make my listening room a little more like that....

PS. what mods did you do to your insignias? i bought a pair, enjoyed them for what they were, but i returned them cause i really didnt need anymore bookshelf speakers. Now my living room could use a pair.
