Just put up some new walls :D

Yeah its too bad the deal on the DTS-10's is over, if he added 1ft depth to that wall and built it around a pair of them, he would be in business...

I didn't think about that and it would have been a fantastic way to go.
Its not like it would of stood out in a negative manor, completely hidden.

Hey PD, I'd bet that there is no way it's happening, but just to make sure we cover as many possibilities as possible . . . what about Danley tapped horns? Yeah, they're big, but maaaybe shallow enough where you could put it right against the front wall, behind the TV pulling your rack out 11 inches. I think that's how deep rmk's TH-SPUDs are. Of course, he uses them as a riser, which I highly doubt you guys would go for. Anyways, I'm pretty sure they can do any finish for you, maybe send/tell them what your paint is or something. Of course, this is for the output route. The one I will have is 16" deep, but I figure you would want the shallowest possible, with a TH.

Or just get the SVS. Just know that they are a lot bigger than the JL, almost exactly twice the volume.
I sold the TH-SPUDS (11"X45"X48") last weekend. They made for a very nice ride when sitting in the second row seats .

But I've had enough of this LFE madness and I'm scaling back to just two subs :).

I can't get away with moving stuff out another 16'' on the front wall.

Is there any 3rd party, 2 meter ground plane (2M GP) data for the Submersive anywhere? I haven't found any. Mark did email me a few minutes ago and it looks like an estimated 4 week lead time on the sub.

Although the SVS is huge, I think "she" will like the looks of it in the piano gloss. It is somewhat of a proven sub. The Submersive will/should play louder than the PB13-Ultra from 40-80 Hz simply because it has dual 15” woofers and considerably more cone surface area. Below 40 Hz, I would expect the Ultra to start closing the gap (again due to its much larger cabinet and ported design), and it should have a considerable advantage in the 20-32 Hz region. I think this may just work with a crossover from the 100's at 60hz or so.

So $1K for the Kit and $3K for Glued and Screwed?

Danley may have sold their last DTS-10 ...

Yes, +/- $100. Freight won't be cheap. However, it's not just glued, screwed, but also finished (and I'm sure to order as well).

Sorry to see your spuds go. You are building a custom riser for it now, instead? If the irons are still hot, and not that I have the first clue in helping you, investigating the idea of riser as helmholtz resonator/trap could be interesting.

I.e. sprayed with Line-X. :p

I actually can see the price tag going up at least double to assemble it. I know from my job the difference between shipping out a kit of parts versus assembling, finishing and QCing something. Huge huge difference.

I don't know how good Line-X can look, but I have seen different custom, colored, smooth finishes before. If I'm not imagining things. Yes, I thought I saw them with DSL stuff. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Danleys standard finish is a polyurathane-type finish similar to Line-X.

Line-X, if your not going for looks, is a badass finish (looks like what it is, but is extremely tough). I just say Line-X because you can drive your box over and have the guy spray it.

For a painted durable but smooth finish, I'd use AwlGrip.

Or, I guess, veneer...although I sorta hate veneer but that is a personal thing. :)

I've seen some of DSL's custom finish stuff in pictures. It looks nice, but is for sure 'extra' in cost (as it should be). I know a good DSL dealer if you ever need any quotes. :)

Here is some info from Ed Mullen at SVS:

PB13 vs F113

Here is how the two subwoofers stack-up with respect to max output (CEA 2010 distortion-limited tone bursts) at 2M ground plane:

Freq PB13U F113 PB13U Advantage Acoustic Output

20 108.5 101.3 2.3X

25 112.4 105.5 2.2X

32 115.8 109.8 2.0X

40 116.9 114.0 1.4X

50 115.8 116.5 NA

So even dual F113 still would not match a single PB13U from 20-32 Hz. With a 60 Hz XO (which will have the subwoofer operating primarily <55 Hz), you should definitely notice an improvement in very deep bass pressure/output from the PB13U.

Yo! Subless!!! What happened to you, man?

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and buy something. ;)

We don't ever have to speak of this time. :D

Sounds like you need a couple of ultras, just have to find somewhere to put them... they are quite large.

She said she was ok with the size since it has a nice finish and good curves.

It doesn't seem that much bigger than the Dawg Crusher. It is 2' wider, 1" shorter and 3" deeper.

So are you going to get the black to match the towers or a nice veneer?
