SVS PB12 Plus with my PB13 ...GOOD MATCH ?

Ok i've decided to add another sub my PB13 Ultra is getting lonely . Im very happy with the performance of my Single Ultra but im greedy :p I dont think I want to go with a another Ultra because the Ultra is so big that a second would limit my placement options and dont really want to stack them because it would take up hlf the height of my wall the front stage of my Mini HT area . I think the slightly smaller footprint and size of the PB12 Plus will for sure give me more placement options and possibly would be able to stack them . Again im really happy with the sub sonic bass but im thinking the baby brother of the Ultra will give me more mid-bass a having two subs it may "with proper placement " give me nice even bass distributed threw out my room . It really does sound great now but more would be even better . So whats every ones opinions if it will blend well with my Ultra ? I was thinking of running them both at 15hz tune or maybe 20hz on the plus . Also I've never run duals before so I had a few questions, my pioneer elite only has one sub out so should I run a splitter coming out of my avr ? Also should I run both subs out of my Pioneer elite 21f power conditioner or is it going to draw to much power and would it be better to plug the Pb12 to its own dedicated power strip in its own wall outlet ? I've considered a few other subs But SVS has been so good to me and make such a great sub I just cant leave them and want to stay loyal :) Im not interested in a DIY sub at this time either . Im hoping this pb12 plus would be a great addition to my setup and on those nights were I want some less violent more mellow bass with some solid mid bass i'll just run the pb12 . Thanks in advance for all the input and advice !:)

Heres a couple pics of my front stage of my HT area to get a idea of my placement options and how another Ultra I think would be to much . The PB12Plus is only a few inches smaller and around 30 pounds lighter but every bit helps with the area im working with and around 800 dollars less but with a lot of bang for the buck

consider the cylinder version of the ultra (even that one isn't exactly the same as the box ultra)

Hi Mike I hope all is well and thankyou for your reply :) I know my cat would for sure like it because it resembles a scratching post to much  seriously my cat would be all over that and wouldnt work for me but that was a great idea . What do you think of the other option ? ;)

OMG I FEEL LIKE IM CHEATING ON MY GIRL FRIEND but this eD A7 - 350 Subwoofer looks like a monster for 1200 dollars  Its taller but smaller in all other dimensions then my Ultra and weighs in at 250pounds. HMMMM I could slap that baby in the corner and call it good ;) "Edit" I dont know if I have a corner far enough away though it sure isnt pretty lol

I know you have been getting some feedback on this dilema over on AVS as well but thought I would add my two sense --

The only way you can match the tuning of these two subs is at the 20hz level which means no plugs in your ultra and one port plug in the PB12+....that aside you are still dealing with two different cabinet sizes (volumes) and two completely different drivers and amplifiers. It's always advised that if you are going to use multiple subs that they need to be the same subwoofer. So I would advise you against trying to combine an Ultra with a PB12...

Mike's suggestion of the PC13 is the best bet if space is an issue but I feel you on the cat issue as I had the same problem when I owned a PC16-46+ briefly...

So aside from stacking the ultras on top of one another which doesn't help any with smoothing out room response -- you might need to look to something more powerful like DIY or the ED models like the A7S-650 and A7-700 is you need more juice....

Thanks for the input and yes I've also posted on avs trying to get the most input possible on my options.I was hoping I could get away with the pb12 plus and save the extra 800 dollars . I just upgraded my display to the Panny 65"v10 so my pockets aren't as deep anymore lol . I dont know maybe I should just pass for now on the sub and just get a EMO xpa-5 amp to compliment my Pioneer elite 94 and I wont have any matching issues. Im not getting the response I hoped on adding the pb12plus to the mix I guess sometimes the truth hurts. I've also considered the $1200.00 FREE SHIPPING eD A-350 but im not sure of the quality of the build and the customer service i've been spoiled with by SVS and I feel guilty even considering a different sub like I mentioned above I feel like i'd be cheating on my girl friend

It really is a shame because I think the PC Ultra would of been perfect "for a scratching post for my little buddy . Here he is now sitting on my top of my pb13 thinking if only this was a PC I'D BE SET

Ha ha....yes I it was a sad day indeed yesterday when it left...lol. I am still up in the air as to what I am going to be getting for a replacement. The main reason I sold mine was I live in apartment and it is just not practical nor do I get to use it to anywhere near it's potential for output and performance. I was quite spectaculay listening to my organ recordings on...

I think I may hold out and see what the new sealed SVS models have to offer but I don't want to wait forever and think even the pre-ordering for those new models is still a bit out--let alond once they will start shipping. Either way I think I am going to want to try a sealed sub for a bit...

Wow im sorry to hear that I thought maybe you just got a ich for a new sub. From what you said it sounds like a smaller sealed sub would be perfect for you providing maybe less headroom but outstanding tight ,accurate low to mid end bass if that makes any sense :p :)
you could always wait for the new SVSs to come out;)
As far as I go im about as patient as a rabbit in heat  so that isnt going to happen :p :D

Thank you to all for all the help and suggestions. I decided to give the PB12.5 Plus a go I just pulled the trigger even though its against the grain or from all the suggestions. But I just have a feeling its going to work out good with my HT with some setup trials and dialing . I guess im just a rebel and hopefuly soon to be happier one :)

make sure to post side by side pics with your ultra! :)
I will but for now it will be on the great gramma on the other side of my audio rack and my ultra is on the left . I was going to stack them tonight but my arms and hands are still numb from lifting it up 20 steps  So it will be resting close to the ground for a while :) It was 168 pounds boxed even though it only weighs 130 something not boxed still pretty beefy I got haslf way up the stairs and had to catch my breath and I thinking oh man your only half way there lol
