I was browsing some job posting and came across this.

I'm not qualified, but perhaps someone else around here might find an exciting new career.

Good find!

I'm a mechanical engineer and composites engineer (B.S.), but have no MBA. Mostly, I have no desire to live in Indiana or travel 15-25% of the time ...that's gotta be trips to china, like 16 hour flights ....and something tells me you don't fly business....plus you'd need to get to Chicago to catch those flights.

I'll stay put. :)

You would just confuse them with your 3D orthotropic stress tensor analysis skills anyway. :p

Indiana isn’t that bad:rolleyes:…at the least the cost of living is pretty low. ;)

But I must admit that it’s defiantly on the boring side, and about 6-9 months in any trend that begins on the coasts. But you can catch flights to China from the Indianapolis International Airport for what it’s worth. I know my father isn't a fan of international business trips, but they have always sounded exciting to me. Of course if you’re flying 16 hours to get a butt chewing… well that’s another story.:D

I mean direct flights to China. Last time I was at Indy the airport I could barely get a direct flight to Miami. I doubt they could even get a 747 or 777LD off the ground there. I bet if you need to get from Indy to China you have to fly Indy to O'Haire to China (Hong Kong, Beijing, where ever).

International business trips are cool the first few times you do them, but then they just become a drag.

I love Hong Kong, I've been there 8 or 9 times. 2 of which before they were part of China. I've also been to mainland China, more times than I'd like to have been, and each time I hate it more and more.

When I worked for the company I used to travel for, I went to this one factory making some parts, and no one had any shoes on. I asked the guy touring me around "Where are all these peoples shoes?!" and the guy turned and said "We have a lot of feet in China but not a lot of shoes." I came home from that trip with just socks on my feet, gave away all my shoes and most of my clothing. Last time I was in China they had started on construction of the Olympics, which consisted of telling entire slums that they needed to move so they could build some highways. Sometimes where they told them to go was over 50 km away, and since a lot of them don't have cars, it basically meant they would go hungry if they couldn't find a job.

Now, I'm not saying Klipsch does this, we don't even know if China is where the travelling is to, and there are legit factories in China... but, some of the stuff I saw in China still haunts me today when I go shopping.

Sorry for the trainwreck in the thread haha!

...

Lafayette, IN. huh... do you go to Purdue?

Other than the coolness factor for us AV geeks, nothing about the job attracts me to it.

Did I mention that it would be cool working for Klipsch, though...

If you go unemployed long enough, anything will be better than not working!

Glad to see an American company needing people.

Wasn't this about Klipsch? Maybe Klipsch needs to start sponsoring some of these women's teams?!
