Stance on discussing banned films here?

See thread title, I'm trying to find out a bit more info on a movie that's being discussed on another forum I frequent. This particular film seems to have been erased from history. Web searches turn up very little except for a yahoo answers page and a deleted wikipedia entry. No one seems to know what the actual content of the film is, I'd just like to know if it actually exists or if it is a hoax. I'm purposely being vague here in case this post is inappropriate, if so mods can feel free to delete my post.

Most likely a hoax, but the lack of information is what has me interested.

Perhaps it wasn't banned but was just so amazingly bad that there isn't much information about it left.

I'm sure that there are several more like that.

But what an interesting thread to talk about films that we don't know if they exist or not (banned or discarded from history). ;)

Many people seem to forget that prior to 10 or 15 years ago not everything was posted or even available on the internet. Just because there is little if any info about a subject online doesn't really mean much other than it is not currently (or even recently) a topic that many people are interested in.

Perhaps you'd like to get to the point and name the title, or is this just some sort of sociology experiment?

Well I'll go ahead and post it up since I don't even really have proof that the movie actually exists, though it has been compared to other movies that have been banned. The movie is called Satan's Sphinx.

There is a yahoo answers entry for it from a couple months ago.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090510112955AArwgKq

And a deleted wikipedia entry which you can see in this link description (about the 10th search result down the page) and is now missing if you follow the link:
Edited: the wiki entry is no longer showing up in searches

Any other information I've heard about this movie is purely rumor, speculation and tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, though I will be happy to share what I've heard for those interested. This has been a pretty popular discussion over at the WoW forums, and already spoofs/rickrolls are appearing on this topic so if you search you will surely find them. The yahoo answers entry and the dogpile search result were the only hits out there not too long ago.

I honestly read that as Satan's Sphincter the first dozen times I saw it. Which, of course, led me to wonder why anyone would want to see it (the film or the subject). Then, of course, I got to thinking about what might come out of there, which led me to wonder what Satan would eat, how he'd digest it, and so on. So, it was not entirely pleasant.

Then I realized it was Satan's Sphinx, which led me to think of the Sphinx, which is a big cat with a human head on top of it, which led to other ways to say "cat" and then to euphemisms for cat, which led to other unpleasant thoughts regarding Satan and... that.

So, overall, I'm thinking it's best it was banned, because even hearing the title led to a bit of personal hell for me.

^ This is pure pizzazz.

* Links (sphinx) would be nice too.

<<< Satan's Sphinx >>>

1. -> Satan: Devil. Diabolic. Demoniac. Slanderer. The personal supreme of evil.
* In this case here; A poster's apprentice.

2. -> Sphinx: A monster with the head and bust of a woman, the body of a lion, and wings.
An enigmatic or mysterious person.
* In this case here; One who asks a riddle of persons who pass and destroys those who cannot answer it.

LOTR

No one knows, though there are a few theories:

1. It is a video of a satanic ritual
2. It is similar to one or more of the movies on IGN's list of the 10 sickest movies of all time. Google at your own risk, these movies appear to be pretty extreme.
3. It is a movie made by the government possibly used to torture prisoners, there are two variations on this theory. First, it is said to be a combination of lights and sounds which viewing for an extended period of time drives you insane. Second, it could contain atrocities which the prisoner is forced to watch making them give up information.

There are a few theories regarding the title as well. Some say Satan's Sphinx is the actual title, others say that the film has no title and Satan's Sphinx was the name given to the government project which made the film. I have also heard that Satan's Sphinx is an anagram for the actual title which is in Italian. This may just be a reference to the Italian film Cannibal Holocaust (which is on the previously mentioned list) though.

I seriously doubt that anyone could ban all references to something that actually exists or existed. I'm guessing it's some kind of weird hoax. I'm sad that I missed out on it because I enjoy reality engineering. :)

I'd guess a publicity stunt for an upcoming indy release or "new discovered" "re-release" or something along those lines. Recall, the Blair Witch Project producers started internet pages relating to the subject and the "missing" people a year or more before the "raw footage" was "found" by hikers.

My second guess would be akin to what was posted earlier, an ultra low budget, limited or local release flick so crappy that no one recalls it or has a copy. Kind of like all those "demo" tapes that many different musical "artists" have released over the years.

Troubles ahead and now behind!!!

^ And believe me, when I say Hell. I just found out the harsh way.

Yes, I did get my hands on the ditto movie (on DVD), don't ask me how, I just did and I swored to not reveal it's source..

Well, guess what, my Onkyo TX-SR876 self-destroyed right from the beginning of that movie!!! Yes, you did heard me right; soon that I put the DVD disc on my player and that the first scene started to play, my 876 bursted into a firework of lights and flashes with a loud irretating and scary, crunchy sound, plus brown smoke filling my living room!!!

So much for "Satan's Sphinx"!!!

Banned movie!, never again in my life time. I'll watch it from the comfort of my coffin.

Good night, good day and good luck.

BTW, film doesn't exist. Heavy trolling is the cause of the search for a non-existant video/movie. Hurray for those trolls. I know this because of the source of this information comes from a fat revolting blob of idiots that think they are funny and smart, but they are children and childish adults.

Are you referring to the /x/ or the OT, because I won't touch 4chan with a 10 foot pole. If you are talking about the OT, well, that's your opinion but every once in a while there is actually a good discussion over there if you can look past the trolls. What I find interesting is that a few days ago a google search for this turned up exactly two hits, the yahoo answers page and a deleted wiki entry. You can google pretty much anything and get pages of results.
