Dual MFW-15 Setup

Dual MFW-15's pounding the HT and sounding good. My placement seems to be at odds with conventional wisdom but passes the how does it sound test for several people who have checked it out.

I can't do the crawl test because the size of these monsters so I had to move them around and just listen. I am trying to learn REW as well but right now I just feel stupid using it.

Anyway, here is how they are set up, the bass is incredible and smooth where it needs to be and very intense where it needs to be. Looking at the placement does this make sense or am I just getting lucky?

The room is mostly square at 15x14.

Agreed, WOTW when they come out of the ground is incredible, the laser than kills people shakes the floor as well. Very enjoyable.

It really made it sound smoother! My wife thought it would just over power the room but she trusted me enough to get it. Finding the right placement in this room was the hardest part because I had to use the front wall or nothing.

When I first set the 2nd one up the null was so large I heard almost no bass at 3 of the sitting positions in the room. It was horrible, moving the right sub close to the wall facing straight out and pointing the left one towards the middle of the room transformed it big time.

Playing the Blue Man Group DVD Audio shakes the room so hard your vision blurs and I wonder how much more they can take before something breaks!

Nice pictures of subs. I suggest not messing with REW until the wow factor wears off some.

I only had my Dual MFW-15's for 3 months and one just went dead yesterday . Hope you have better luck. I Should have went with SVS.

I'm using the Radio Shack Sound Pressure meter and no eq, just starting to learn. Need to read the help files, have only started the software, haven't used it yet, need some free time first, but anybody willing to give a quick REW for dummies tutorial I'm game!

Sorry to hear that!! Here is the latest info regarding the amp issues, there should be a module available soon to replace the defective ones. I hope to replace the module in both of mine as well but will wait until they die first so people with issues get taken care of first. I'm sure there are some putting in for a new module when their sub still works.

In doing this, we serve both you and our brand to the very best of our ability.

I will release more information next week to offer any further clarifications that may be needed.

Well, per my wife one of my new MFW's was humming very loudly this morning so I had her power them off. I'm hoping it was just her pain in the arse cat that stepped on something or bumped a wire.
