hi all.

so, im in a doubte between this two systems:

BOSE 901-VI
and
BOSE ACOUSTIMASS 15 II

I know that one is stereo and the other one 5.1, but this is my situation:

I have a room (about 65 m2), in it, a projector, and it is like a real home theather. but, I also have a triple derby in it, so it can be a room for party (music)

I'm a little bit now for a music, but i want a quality for watching films.
now, in there are:bose 301, jamo, and vtrek speakers (doing 7.1)

btw, pioneer vsx 515 is receiver.

Bose speakers are terrible and overpriced by a long shot. You can do far better.
If you interested I can suggest superior options that will work well for both theater and music. If you are a wood worker or have the desire to learn I can suggest DIY solutions. If you just want to buy already built speakers.

KEF, SVS, Axiom, Aperion, Energy, Paradigm, Behringer and many other have superior systems compared to any and all bose systems. If you like your music and movies you will buy something else. Bose simply makes bad speakers and there is no other way to slice it.

May I ask what your budget is?

Those BOSE speakers are terrible.....period.

I can recommend something that will blow it away at a fraction of the price.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY BOZO speakers. They are a complete rip off they sound like computer speakers, crappy ones at that. What is your budget for speakers? System budget? Love to help you make a choice but we need to know what you can afford.

If you need small speakers, I would look at Orb, Def Tech Promonitor or Mythos gems, The smaller Klipsch series, basically any speaker other than Bose. With the money you save you can invest in an awesome ID sub to round out the sound.

Well, you already have some kind of Jamo speaker in there. Audition and try the Jamo C60 series (C607, C605, C603, C60 CENTER and their surrounds).

Jamo makes very, very good speakers. Some Jamo models are flat out great and outstanding.

For 2800, I would go with five Mackie H824's for about 400.00/ea and use the extra 800 towards a SVS sub. The Mackie's have a ruler flat frequency response and with 8" mid range drivers can blend very easy with a sub. They are bookshelf size and have built in amplifiers designed for the speaker itself and owners love them. They would blow away the Bose 100 times over.

For a 2800. home theater I suggest you spend 1400 on subs

1400 on speakers. I always suggest DIY first, but if your unwilling.

For subs I say just go SVS. Get 2 of whatever you can.

For speakers spend 1000 on fronts, 400 on surrounds. For the fronts your options are just all over the place. Since Bose is your standard it will be easy to satisfy you.

For surrounds get dipoles if you can.

I always plug KEF speakers. I think they make very good ones, plus they have nice dipoles and a great center in the iQ6. Pair it with iQ5s and iQ8s and you will have 5 very good speaker IMO. accessories4less is the place to pick up these speakers and a receiver. Just grab a Marantz line if you need one. The 4002 is a nice receiver IMO and fitting for your budget.

Still get an SVS or DIY sub IMO. If you interested in a DIY sub fire me a PM and I can give some suggestions. Even if you want someone to build em for you.

"No highs , no lows, MUST be BOSE." :D

Run screaming from the Bose fairy, she's a real meanie don't let her cast her spell on you! There are so many better options that offer better value for money.

If you want a great compact system for the money, RBH CT series, outstanding value, virtually indestructible. Audioholics did a shootout with several other brands and RBH CT's held their own and then some, with 5 star value for money.

From the review:
"Play this system loud and you won't be disappointed. I simply could not get distortion out of the RBH Sound system without raising the listening level to uncommonly high SPLs. The CT-5.1 System is a rugged performer, providing consistently good sound from both the satellites and its dual-8" sub."

There's no way BOSE can even hold a candle to that, even at double the price.

Listen and look around. Deals can be had. Europe has a lot of great speakers. So don't limit yourself.

However in your case I would just match your existing speakers.

Two possibilities:
I'd go and buy 5 ACI Emerald XL's and a Force XL subwoofer. NOTHING in this small of a package will even come close. Shipping to Croatia would be be more reasonable.

Aperion 5T Hybrid: The free trial will go a long way in helping you decide. Value for the dollar spent is high, and they have outstanding customer service.

Hey Derb
I was once in your shoes wanting to purchace a name brand of speakers that sucked. Thank God I checked with the Audioholic boys first. They set me straight and I ended up with some really nice Jamo's...D450's.
If you have Jamo speakers you need to match up with then stick with them, Jamo is an excellent brand.
The fellas here try hard to give good advice for every particular situation.
Good luck, and let us know what you decided.
