Hi...I'm going to buy a pair of shelf speakers coupled with an amplifier...

I was thinking about Canton GLE 430 / JAMO C603 and Marantz PM 4001 / PM 5003..

Any suggestions?

I listen to various genres (rock, metal, jazz, dance, classic....)
I'd like to use them for movies as well...

My budget is limited to 742$...

Thanks alot :)

I would suggest the Behringer 2030p with mods. Then get a receiver from accessories4less.

I know it may be cheap, but would save you some money and with the mods they are supposed to be very good speakers.

Some day I'll pick up a pair to try it out myself.

I am a fan of the Marantz PM integrateds. Good stuff, and your speaker choices should do fine as well, making a good 2ch system.

i just bought the behringer b2031p's and i have them hooked up to an Adcom GFA 545II and they sound great. For sealed speakers, they have great full range sound. They are massive though. A hefty 30lbs each lol.

not yet. im probably not going to do it until the summer when I have some free time. I can definitely hear something in the tweeters though, so I might just do the 2 mods for that.
