Hey, i got my Def Tech Supercube 1 in the other day and i am not sure if its everything i imagined it to be. I did not see the unit, just ordered it because of the reviews. I have been looking at several different subs, and was wondering if anyone else has compared the Supercube 1 to anything else out there. I just want to hear some feed back about this sub.

What equipment do you have, and how do you have it setup? Did you read the subwoofer sticky?

Supercube1

I did not read the Sticky, i will do that. I am using a Denon 3808avr as my receiver, Panamax 5300 line conditioner, monster subwoofer cable, ps3 as blu-ray player with Dark Knight as my video of choice. I am also using Definative Technology Mytho Solos 2 & 3 as my L,R,&C. Mytho Gems XL as sorrounds. I have not yet ran the auto setup either.

Set all your speakers to small, and the crossover to 80 hz, maybe even 90 or 100 since you have smaller speakers, but definitely run the auto setup first, then go back and double check to see that it kept all the speakers to small. That movie has a very hot lfe track, so you should get lots of bass from it once you get your system calibrated.

I've never used the sub, but most subs impress people regardless of brand. The really good ones blow you away though. Preferrably having 2 is best.

Once you have heard a properly setup, capable sub...there is no turning back:eek:
note: subs that dont impress
polk
Focal (they do have high db output)
klipsch (except the thx duals)
Boston Accoustics
pioneer
onkyo
hk
yamaha consumer
canton
DT(except the trinity(servo ..pdawg))
and countless others

I also agree with setting the speakers to small and using a higher crossover. Even though the Mythos Gems I have say they can get down to 65Hz, when I run Audyysey it says to cross over at 150Hz. I used to have enm crossed at 100Hz but even then the Gems couldnt handle that, so since you have the Gems XL, I would look at either a crossover at 120 or 150Hz, the other speakers I would cross at between 80-100Hz.

HTIB are never a true sorround system, you get what you pay for and its like wine, you get a box wine, when you could have paid a little more for a bottle of wine.
