That's ridiculous. That is going to put the hammer on e-tailers. Good to see the government can be so short-sighted looking for quick revenue and put the screws to small e-businesses. In essence, they are forcing e-tailers to charge a 6-8% premium. That's a few bucks on $100 purchase, what about the $2k purchases ($120-$160)?!?!
Potentially, that $ gap between just going to BB or whatever and buying online is going to disappear.
e-tailers typically don't win customers based on service (present company excluded), they win it by selling to people who would rather save $50 or whatever, which I think is quite a few people out there (like me).
