I went to Circuit City today and and bought a Boston Acoustics 10 inch powered sub for my home computer today for $150 and it's pretty tight. The model # is in my sig... I don't know how it compares to other subs in that price range, but it was a pretty good deal. If there's a Circuit City in your area... hit it, there are some deals.

Good luck.

Excellent choice

I'm going to do some more listening this weekend but these little guys sound pretty good so far. As stereo subs how are they working for ya, sounds like a good deal

Just over $200 and weighing in at 60# the A SuB has been getting favorable press, including craigsub iirrc.

Dayton has my vote for brand-new. If you don't mind used, look around for an Av123 X-Sub or HSU STF-1.

Take a look at the TSC ASW-10 or TSC ASW-8. In a head to head comparison I did the TSC's where far superior to the Dayton subs. The Daytons where very muddy sounding. No matter what I did with positioning. They can get reasonably loud but have poor definition. The build quality was questionable compared to the TSC subs as well.

I haven't had this issue. I wonder if it's your room acoustics.

Mine isn't muddy at all. Clear as water.

Though the speaker is kinda cheap looking without the grill.

Based on your avatar alone I would like to hear more. :)
Does this apply to the 10" and 12" Daytons? I had my sister get a couple of 12's and this is the first I have heard anything being better at their price point.

I see Matt likes the TSC ASW-8 but that's at a lower price point than the 12" Dayton.

Which specific Dayton 12" sub? They have a few ... e.g. - Titanic, etc.
