Well I am finally going to buy a URC. I spoke with Chelsea at URC and she was one of the most helpful Tech people i have had the pleasure to deal with. SHe sent me over a bunch of manuals to see if they would match up with some components I have. They will work with my English stuff that I know Harmony does not. I would have to consider myself a "fan "of URC now.......In fact I would recommend them 110%...:D

I've been recommending them 110% everytime someone asks about which remote to buy. :)

The fact that you can put any command from any device on any button in any mode (except for a few restrictions like main and the page up/down buttons) make them extremely flexible and pretty easy to set up a configuration that works the way you want it to work.

That's true. Now I understand why. :D

Ya know, forgetting initial setup for now . . . but if I want to tweak anything, add a new command:

URC = Hold down main + * or whatever. Select macro button. Press any button to program. Hit desired button from original remote.

What is that, 10 seconds?

Harmony = Open program. Login + password. Find that cable, wherever it is, plug it in computer. Click whatever page gets to setup (wait to load, tap fingers). Select macro, wait to load. Select button to program, and really hope that Logitech has that code, and hope even more that it actually works. Wait to load, tap fingers some more. Hit update remote. Tap fingers while remote is "sensed". Wait while updating. Tap fingers. Forget telling the program it works fine cuz Im sick of this. Close out, pull cable and stow away, check if it works.

5 minutes?

You forgot to add: disconnect the remote and test the macro. If it doesn't work, wash, rinse, and repeat the entire damn process again. ;)

thats whats nice about the editor based remotes from URC, live emulator while connected to test codes while you are programming:). I have nothinh against harmony, just to many horry stories to recommend them. URC and RTI are the cats meow before you step up to full blown control systems.
